PML Trade Grades: Falcons ace the exam, Diggs & Ruggs III trading places

A purely chaotic day in the PML world as several trades sent shockwaves through the chat. As the pieces begin to fall heading into this Sundays draft, here are the draft grades brought to you by Arod (Bengals) and Noble (Bears)

Raiders receive: WR Stefon Diggs, CB Levi Wallace, LOLB Malik Jefferson

How do you replace a 99 speed X-Factor?  Cammy kicks off the start of trading with a monster deal brining in 99 overall X-factor Stefon Diggs to Las Vegas while also solidifying the defense with top tier CB Levi Wallace and a their new starting LOLB Malik Jefferson.  Cammy caught a lot of heat for this deal, but I like it for the Raiders.  Aside from the speed, they upgraded at wide receiver as Diggs boast a 99 rating in catching, catch in traffic, short route, medium route, deep route.  And with a 97 spectacular catch and 97 release, they have a very dangerous weapon to replace the speedy Ruggs III.  Levi Wallace teams up with Trayvon Mullen to form a very dangerous cornerback duo.  It wasn’t a popular move for Cammy, but at the end of the day, you need to do what is best for the Raiders.

Grade: A-

Bills receive: Henry Ruggs III, Draft Pick 2.8

KMFO strikes again.  PML was put on notice as the 2x defending champion makes a big splash in his quest for a 3-peat.  Coach KMFO had his sights on the 99 speed X-factor Ruggs III and sent whatever needed to be sent to obtain him.  Levi Wallace was expandable as he was the odd man out of a top tier CB log jam.  I give it until week 2 and we’ll see a 99 overall Ruggs III which is equivalent to a living nightmare with Allen throwing him the ball.  Good luck AFC East. Snagging the 2nd round pick was the icing on the cake.

Grade: A-

Steelers receive: Deshaun Watson

The Minshew II era comes to a booming end in Pittsburg as they obtain silver star Deshaun Watson from the Texans.  While he has lost his abilities, he is still Deshaun Watson with some of the highest attributes in the league.  This is one of the two big moves Drama has made to improve the Steelers offense.  Watson to JuJu and Jones should create some matchup nightmares for the AFC North corners.  Drama gets his man, but at what cost.  Down comes the steel curtain which was one of the most feared defense in the league.  More to come on Pittsburgh’s big day of trading…

Grade: B

Texans receive: MLB Devin Bush, TE Chase Claypool, C Maurkice Pouncey

Texans commit to Drew lock in free agency and add a nice stockfile of high end talent.  Devin Bush pairs with Martin and Chubb to become on of the best sets of LBs in PML.  Maurkice Pouncey is a solid add to an already solid offense line.  Can the Texans have the same firepower with Lock at the helm?  That is the big question.

Grade: B+

Football Team receive: FS Jaquan Brisker, 3.20

Brisker didn’t have the opportunity he needed in New Orleans and doesn’t seem like he’ll get that chance in Washington playing behind Apke.  While he has potential, he doesn’t seem to be given the opportunity anywhere he plays.  I assume he was a throw in to make the draft pick for Sims deal work.

                Grade: C+

Saints receive: WR Steven Sims

Saints add solid slot player with 93 speed to make up for Auden Tate’s 85 speed on the outside.

                 Grade: B+

Steelers receive: WR Julio Jones

Drama is all in on revamping the offense.  Julio comes in on maybe the last year as an ‘elite’ receiver.  The defense continues to crumble as the attention shifts to the offense.  Julio pairs with JuJu and will be catching balls from Watson.  But how long will they stay on the field with a downgraded defense? Steelers also jeopardize their future giving up the 10th overall pick in the draft.

Grade: C+

Falcons receive: RE Cameron Heyward, CB Keith Taylor, 1.10

Hands down to AntDawgz.  Sends his aging WR out of town and get back the 10th overall pick in the draft and a superstar defender in Heyward.  Heyward now gives the Falcons two superstars on the d-line paired with Jonathan Allen. Chandler Jones, Deion Jones, both Xfactors, along with Oluokun and Terrell, two superstars, this is a scary defense.  Watch out those Falcons.

Grade: A

49ers receive: QB Trey Lance

49ers fill the QB void they desperately needed to fill.  Davis Mills wasn’t the answer for Nef (22TD/44INT) this past season as the 2nd round pick gets shipped out after his rookie season.  In comes Trey Lance.  With content points put into him, I think this is a great deal for the 49ers in their quest for QB stability.

Grade: A-

Saints receive: DT Javon Kinlaw, QB Davis Mills, 2.9

Without any content, I am not sure what the Saints plan on doing at QB in the 4th year in the cycle.  They take on a 74 rated QB which is a head scratcher for me unless they plan on signing a veteran this off season.  The defensive line already had Sheldon Rankins at DT, and XF Cameron Jordan at LE.  The move doesn’t make much sense to me.  Are other deals lined up? We shall see…

Grade: D

Dolphins receive: RG Kevin Zeitler, 2.18

Dolphins avoid a FA bidding war on mediocre talent and grab a solid starter in Zeitler moving down about 30 spots.  Their offense line is complete and RB Breece Hall is a happy man.

Grade: B+

Lions receive: 1.20

Cookie does his scouting.  He puts himself where he needs to be to snag the player on his radar.  Zeitler became expandable when they signed C Tretter yesterday.

Grade: B

Lions receive: 4.17

Bold prediction. Cookie spent the season scouting- totally nails the draft.  Lucas was the odd man out of a young CB log jam.  Cookie finds a buyer.

Grade: B

Broncos receive: CB Chase Lucas

Lots of potential talent.  The undrafted CB has a 74 rating to go along with 91 speed.  Plug some content into him and he could be the opening day starter for Denver.

Grade: B+

Bengals receive: MLB Jayon Brown & pick 29 in the upcoming draft.

Trading Joe Burrow for a late first and an MLB X Factor must have underlying factors. Joe Burrow has been a known centerpiece for that offense and helped players such as John Ross and Joe Mixon reach stardom. Nevertheless, Burrow’s lack of throw power might have been the sole reason for this trade and depending on who ARod picks up in free agency or the draft decides the validity of this move.

Grade: B

Titans receive: QB Joe Burrow

The man with a plan Joe Burrow is going south to Nashville to the Tennessee Titans. This trade was to replace the first ballot hall of famer Aaron Rodgers. However, Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers are two different types of Quarterbacks. Rodgers at one point was able to rely on the throw power and the ability “gunslinger” to get the ball to point A to point B in an effortless fashion. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow just will not be able to make those same throws. Derrick Henry also regressing and losing his abilities, Joe Burrow will be asked to do a lot and I don’t think he will be able to fill the role of Aaron Rodgers.

Grade: C

Football team receive: FS Jessie Bates

Getting a young talented safety in this league is rare especially this put together and a young age. Often you see younger safeties held on to for dear life or being drafted. This is a great move for the football team who has made Troy Apke a household name. Imagine what he’ll do with a player he can let roam? I love this trade for the Washington Football Team. Good move.

Grade: A
Bengals receive: CB Kendall Fuller, 3rd round pick this year, and 4th round pick this year.

I think this trade right here is a win-win for both teams first. The Bengals get much needed secondary help. They also get good draft capital to help figure o-line needs, in my opinion a trade does not get fairer then this. Those third and fourth round picks have the capacity to be a day one starter on that team. With the emergence of their young superstar Daxton Hill; Jessie Bates was just taking away reps from the young ball hawk.

Grade: A

———————————————————–

Bengals receiveDT Kenny ClarkQB Jordan Love, and a 2nd round pick.

This trade directly coincides with the trade Coach Arod made earlier this offseason. He got a younger and more gunslinger type of player in Jordan Love to throw it deep to John Ross and Jaylen Waddle. Kenny Clark makes that defensive line the best in the league by far (on paper). With the addition of the 2nd round pick I am sure that player will make an immediate impact on that squad.

Grade: A

Packers receive: HB Marlon Mack, MLB Akeem Davis-Gaither, WR Tyler Boyd, 2nd pick overall, and a 2nd round 2nd overall.

Boy did the Packers get a haul, but is it all smoke and mirrors? Marlon Mack becomes a backup to the premier running back Aaron Jones which you need in PML. Tyler Boyd becomes WR2 behind Davante Adams. Good luck guarding both of those guys at the same time. While also getting Akeem Davis-Gaither who is his going to be playing some downs in that defense. I feel as if the Bengals won this trade here getting players who are going to make plays regardless of scheme while Mack and Boyd are going to have to be schemed into the offense. I do like receiving the draft picks but one of them is going to QB and who knows what direction he will go in. The reason for this grade is because he will be receiving two starters.

Grade: C-

———————————————————–

Saints receive: DT Isaiahh Loudermilk

The saints get a young DT in hopes he develops into a game changer because right now he is about average to good at about everything, but not great at one thing. However, he can eventually take that leap and become the player Coach Detroo think he can be.

Grade: B

Panthers receive: current 2nd round pick (41), curren6th  round pick (180)

The Panthers let a guy loose who was never going to be a starter due to Derrick Brown reaching stardom. So, they turned him into a 2nd round pick and a 6th round pick which I feel like was fair value for him. They have the potential to make a splash with the 2nd round pick and it will all be worth it.

Grade: B

———————————————————–

Saints receive: Current 5th round pick and future 6th round pick.

Saints receive draft capital to fill out holes and get more backup players to help increase their own team depth. While the future of that future 6th round pick is still unknown, I am sure this coach has a plan.

Grade: C+

Bears receive: Current 4th round pick.

Bears need to fill their needs now if they want to compete for the NFC North title this upcoming season. Finding a starter with a 4th round pick is very rare but it has been done before; and I know he is going to try to find the missing piece in the draft.

Grade: B-

———————————————————–

49ers receive: RG Zack Martin

This is a great pick up by the 49ers. They get the best RG in the league while only giving up one starter and the 9th overall pick. The 49ers are trying to have one of the top tier o-line in the league and this is a step in the right direction.

Grade: B+

Cowboys receive LOLB Kyzir White, WR Trevon Grimes, and the 9th pick in the draft.

I am a little indifferent about this trade for the Cowboys. They get a LB that can play coverage next to Jaylon Smith and LVE but then they get a receiver that is a guy for more depth which is always needed but I feel like he got greedy with the trade for the receiver. The number nine pick in the draft is a nice grab and will get you a day one starter but other than that this trade makes me feel like meh.

Grade: C
