pThe Miami Dolphins were rejuvenated by their time off during the week. The New York Jets started off with the ball on offense but they were unable to get anything going on offense and the defense for the Miami Dolphins forced a 3 and out. Tua and the Dolphins offense stepped on the field ready to put on a fireworks display, but their first drive was halted when Tua found a wide open Will Fuller in the middle of the field. Fuller caught the ball and proceeded to run up the field when he was blasted by Kareem Jackson. Fuller never saw the vicious hit coming and Jackson was able to force the fumble and recover the ball as he made strides down the field and gave the New York Jets a 7-0 lead. However, Will Fuller would make up for his fumble the very next drive. On a 3rd and 4, coach Fallen dialed up a levels concept aimed to pick up the first down. Tua audibled Will Fuller’s route to a streak up the seam when he noticed the free safety cheating up near the line of scrimmage. When the ball was snapped, Fuller ran past the defenders for the Jets, and Tua hit him in stride for a 69 yard touchdown. The Dolphins never looked back after that touchdown and they defeated the Jets 48-25. ppTua Tagovailoa had his best game as a Dolphin so far against the Jets. He completed 23 of his 28 attempts. He threw for 351 yards and 6 touchdowns. This was the most passing touchdowns that Tua has thrown for in his NFL career. He completed 82% of his passes and finished the game with a perfect passer rating. Jaylen Waddle continued his dominance in this game. He had 5 receptions for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of his best catches came when Tua was forced to roll to his left and he threw a dart past two defenders. Will Fuller was able to snag the ball out of the air and keep his feet in bounds in the end zone. The Dolphins have so many weapons in the passing game that some of the less flashier players don’t get a lot of recognition, but tight end Mike Gesicki was an outlet for Tua in this game. Gesicki had five receptions for 40 yards and he caught 2 touchdowns. The Dolphins offensive attack seemed almost impossible to stop at times and they will need to ride that momentum into next week’s game against the New Orleans Saints. The Dolphins have a lot of impactful players on defense and they are one of the league’s top teams when forcing takeaways. They forced the Jets to turn the ball over six times. There were five different defenders who intercepted rookie Quarterback Zach Wilson. ppThe defense of the Dolphins held Zach Wilson to under 300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Most of his passing yards came on a few deep passes, but Wilson only completed 9 total passes the entire game. The Dolphins can be one of the league’s hottest teams when they balance their play calls and are not forcing the ball to any one player. As the season comes to an end, it is going to be important for Coach Fallen to keep his players fresh and to rotate his backs, especially in the passing game.p
