NFC Wildcard Round post game interview (Saints)

The underdog Saints went up against the 2nd seed Washington Football team in the wildcard of the Premier Madden League playoffs and even though everyone expected them to lose the Saints coaches, players, and fans all went out there to try their hardest for a win. Unfortunately the Saints feel short in a convincing 41-30 Washington win. This is what the coach had to say after the game.

Coach Cammy: “You know, just before we start with questions I’d just like to say how proud I am of my guys to make it that far, we might’ve just slipped in at 8-9 but we started the season off rough with a record of 1-6 and battled through adversity to make it to this point. I will now accept any questions from the press.”

Reporter #1: “Coach Cammy it seems like this was a game that no one expected you guys to win, that this team was just far greater all around than the squad you guys had. What was your guys preparations leading up to this game?”

Coach Cammy: “You know I’ve been hearing this far greater bullshit a lot and I understand it but come on this is Premier Madden League, any given Sunday. We went out there and tried out best and fell short but I can’t say I am not proud of the effort this team gave. And as for preparations, we were studying film every night on this team but studying wasn’t just enough we needed to be on our A game and this whole team fell short on that.”

Reporter #2: “What was going on with the offense in the beginning? It seems like the team started of sluggish and the game plan wasn’t operating how you guys hoped it would.”

Coach Cammy: “Well we wanted to go out there and make Kamara our go to target and carry the whole weight of the offense early, we thought he was the best man for that job and he was but Washington did their gameplanning and made sure that he wasn’t the threat we intended for. We also need to be smarter on offense with our turnovers, cannot be throwing Interceptions that early in the game we are just shooting ourselves in the foot. Going in the 2nd half we were down by a lot which made us start to have to play fast to come back, that is not what this team is we like to take our time down the field and control the time of possession. Unfortunately we got lost in our gameplan after falling behind too much early and it was just over for them.

Reporter #3: “With the way Jameis Winston has been playing, is it safe to say you guys are moving on from him next season?”

Coach Cammy: “That’s a discussion for another day as of right now Jameis Winston is our starting Quarterback and when the time comes to discuss it in the offseason then you will find out the answer to that. If you have anymore questions about the game I will be willing to answer if not then my time is down here.”

Coach Cammy would leave the podium shaking his head, furious that he failed to bring a win to this organization. Is this the end of Coach Cammys reign as headcoach after a 8-9 season just to get blown out in playoffs or will the Owner Gayle Benson continue to have faith in his headcoach and allow him to continue to build off of this team.
