Saints top 5 Offensive players of the season.

#5 Jameis Winston

What dimension Jameis Winston could bring to the Saints passing attack - Canal Street Chronicles

Now people think that Jameis was having a horrible season but that’s just not the case, he was one of the lead vocal points on this Saints offense. He did start off the season slow and did get benched for a couple games but when he came back on offense it was like a new Jameis Winston arrived and decided to conquer opposing defenses. He threw for 4726 yards with a 73% completion rating, he also had 32 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Now his touchdowns to interceptions ration isn’t that greatest but he’s shown that he can move the ball down the field for a lot of yards every game and still keep a high completion percentage. Jameis was definitely a leader on this offense and he might’ve just earned himself another contract on this Saints roster.

#4 Juwan Johnson

WATCH: Juwan Johnson surprises wife with news that he is playing in first NFL game | RSN

Now Juwan Johnson wasn’t really featured much until the second half of the season until the offense started gameplanning him in more but what a season he had. The elite speed he has at tight end makes him a threat for any defender covering him and he works perfectly in this New Orleans offense. Johnson finished the year with 33 catches for 503 yards and 4 touchdowns. I know that doesn’t seem like much but this is coming from a tight end 2 who is playing behind superstar tight end Adam Trautman. That is just unbelievable production coming out of a player who isn’t even the main focus in that positional group. The Saints are definitely happy with Johnson and plan to keep him on for the rest of his career so they can have the best tight end duo in the league.

#3 Allen Robinson

Chicago Bears: Allen Robinson advanced stats review

The Saints traded for Allen Robinson a quarter of the season in and he did not disappoint this franchise one bit. He came in as the #2 receiver across from Michael Thomas and started off slow but once he learned the playbook fully he went out and was a monster for this offense when it came to jump balls or just open field plays. Robinson finished the season with 46 receptions for 999 yards while catching 9 touchdowns for this offense. Even though he didn’t have the 1000 yard receiving season we all wanted he was just ONE yard away from it and I don’t think that one yard should decide how great of a player this man was. With so many options and weapons on this Saints offense Robinson definitely stuck out and helped shape this team into a winning team.

#2 Adam Trautman

Saints: Adam Trautman has to take the next leap in 2021

Deciding on number one and two was a very difficult task because these next two players were the superstars of this offense and help carry this team week in and week out. But at #2 we had to go with the young superstar tight end Adam Trautman. This kid may not be the fastest but he is definitely one of the smoothest route runners and smartest players on this team. He will use his body to create separation and use his insane jump skills to track down the ball over defenders when its thrown deep to him. As a tight end he has lead the team with 94 receptions for an astounding 1535 yards receiving. That’s not even all he also lead the team in receiving touchdowns with 13 touchdowns! This man is a gem on this Saints team and the team will continue to develop him and build off of this season to make him a even bigger threat in the future. If i’m an opposing defense my eyes would go on Trautman first because he seems to be read 1, 2, and 3 the ball is always going to go to him on key situations and why not? He’s proved himself to be the most reliable pass catcher on this team that will go up and make plays.

#1 Alvin Kamara

At number one, as everyone expected we have the leader of this offense, the man who carries the whole weight on his shoulders Alvin Kamara, or as his teammates and coaches like to call him as “Kammy”. Kamara is by far the best weapon Coach Cam has ever got his hands on and he hopes to continue this great relationship with Kamara through all 5 seasons. Every time Kamara runs and bulldozes his way through holes Coach Cameron has the biggest smile on his face. I mean this guy has done everything you could ask for out of someone. He’s ran for 1406 yards with 300 attempts and got 18 touchdowns while doing it. Those numbers are insane and it just shows that he is one of the best running backs in the PML at this point. But if you thought that was just it for statistics, he was also a major factor in the pass game coming second on the team in receptions with 91 receptions for 1025 yards and 3 touchdowns.. In all purpose yards he has a total of 2431 yards with 21 touchdowns. He was very, very close to being a potential MVP candidate in the PML but he definitely earned MVP on this team. Without Kamara this offense would not flourish and I doubt they’d even have 8 wins. He deserves all the praise in the world the amount of talent this man has is absurd and the fans/coaches cannot wait to see what else he has in store for the remaining seasons.

Other noteworthy mentions

6. Michael Thomas

7. Dwayne Washington

8. Tre’quan Smith

All these guys listed were great contributors on the offense, they just didn’t have as amazing of seasons as the guys in the top 5, but we definitely appreciate the work they put in for this team!
