PML Week 9 Power Rankings

Analysis: (1-10 Wumbo), (11-21 Arod), (22-32 Tbandit)

1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) (Previous 1)

Status quo for the Eagles. The NFC will run through Philadelphia as they are the clear favorites. Coach KMFO remains quiet and confident in his team’s ability with Watson at the helm.

2. New England Patriots (7-1) (Previous 2)

The Patriots continue to look like a competitor come playoff time. This team has won games despite the less than talent on offense. Maybe Coach/GM Problem will look back in regret of this past offseason.

3. Denver Broncos (6-2) (Previous 5)

Denver keeps moving up the ranks keeping their play consistent. While sitting on their bye week Denver have a tough 5 game stretch ahead of them. If they can win at least 3 games out of the 5 they will be looking good come playoff push time.

4. Los Angeles Chargers (7-1) (Previous 6)

The Chargers took the division lead back with a KC loss this past week. If the Chargers want to prove themselves as contenders this season they will need to keep this consistency through the end of the year.

5. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) (Previous 4)

Kansas City were without Patrick Mahomes in the Week 9 loss to the Rams. Brissett was not enough as he threw 5 ints. Hopefully Mahomes can come off suspension soon to get the Chiefs back on track.

6. Indianapolis Colts (6-3) ( Previous 3)

Indianapolis is now going through a rough transition period as reigning Superbowl head coach Mole abruptly retired last week. But, new coach, Codes, will look to carry on the success of Coach Mole. With Buckner out for a few weeks it will be a big test for the rookie head coach with a rookie QB.

7. Dallas Cowboys (6-1) (Previous 11)

Dallas has been making headlines for consistent top play in the NFC. They are only overshadowed by division rival, Philadelphia. It may put them in a tough spot come playoff time if they are unable to win the division.

8. Buffalo Bills (6-2) (Previous 10)

Buffalo appears to be a legitimate contender this year in the now open AFC. Again, like Dallas, will be a playoff team in a wildcard spot due to a tough division opponent in New England. The opportunity is still for the Bills to take the division and be a top seed in the AFC.

9. Los Angeles Rams (5-3) ( Previous 9)

LA picked up the victory against Jacoby Brissett and the KC Chiefs this past week but it was not as easy as it should have been given the 5 ints they forced. Many mistakes were made offensively namely the drive before halftime. The Rams will need to clean this up if they want a chance in the playoffs.

10. Green Bay Packers (5-3) (Previous 8)

Green Bay has been quiet all season after their loud impact last season. Dont forget about them just because they aren’t the hot topic, they still will be a huge threat come playoff time.

11. Tennessee Titans (4-6) (Previous 7)

For the first time in his PML career Wimmy is on the outside looking in for an invite to the playoffs.  He belongs in the conversation of Super Bowl contender, but this schedule has been a daunting task for the Titans this season. Might be time for the Titans to start looking at the draft prospects and not the wildcard standings as the AFC East and AFC West teams look to secure their spots.

12. Baltimore Ravens (5-3) (Previous 13)

After being upset by the Steelers in week 6, the Ravens bounced back in a big divisional game against Nef in week 9 to create some separation in the division.  Things could change these next two weeks as they take on the Broncos and Football Team.  Fellow AFC North peers, this may be your chance to gain ground.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5) Previous 12)

An absolute must win game for TBandit and the Jaguars in Dallas saw them lose by two scores.  With Mole out of the division, TBandit had this opportunity to come within striking distance of the division.  The book is still open on new Colts user Codes, but a 2.5 game lead is a tough chase this late in the season.

14. Miami Dolphins (6-4) (Previous 14)

Dolphins continue to win the games they’re ‘supposed’ to win as Wilson sparks the team once more with 400 yards and 4tds in a 29-14 road win vs the NYJ.  Could the dedicated air attack be sustainable for the rest of the season?  The Dolphins could be 8-4 after the next two games (CIN & MIN) and put themselves in a comfortable wildcard position.

15. Houston Texans (4-6) (Previous 15)

Cook’s focus this season continues to be developing players for season 3 and identifying draft needs.  One of their biggest needs this offseason will be the tailback position. Every top 3 defense needs a running back on the other side of the ball and that is what the Texans desperately lacked this season.  Should be a fun offseason in Houston.

16. Washington Football Team (3-5) (Previous 19)

They currently sit 2 games behind the Seahawks in the wildcard race.  Big game this week vs LAR that could cut the lead down to 1 and shoot the WFT back into playoff contention (If Seahawks lose v. Chargers).  Limiting the rookie QB turnovers and pounding the rock with Gibson is the name of the game in Washington.

17. Seattle Seahawks (5-3)  (Previous 16)

A very favorable rest-of-schedule should benefit the Seahawks as they look to secure a playoff birth this season.  Drama is out to prove the doubters wrong and upset ZStar and the Chargers in our GOTW.  Seahawks come in as +9 underdogs, but as we saw with Drama this season, you never know.

18. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)  (Previous 17)

Although they’re giving up yards and points, the defense continues to force turnovers and the #2 ground attack in PML continues to grind out victories as they drop 50 on the Atlanta Falcons in the co-GOTW and improve to 6-3 on the season.  The first place 49ers have very little room for comfort as the Seahawks and the Rams are a half game behind them.  This should be a fun race to watch. Don’t be surprised if the division sends three teams to the postseason.

19. Detroit Lions (4-5)  (Previous 18)

The curious case of HypeMike.  As of the closing of week 9, the Baker Mayfield era in Detroit is off to a poor start.  With GB (2x), BUF, DET, NE on the remaining schedule, the Lions could be looking more towards season 3 development and offseason moves than a wildcard spot.

20. Chicago Bears (3-6)  (Previous 20)

After two straight losses and Problem Wright on deck, the Bears have pretty much secured their season 2 fate.  The pieces are just not there yet for user LQNoble to make that run we are all waiting for.

21. Atlanta Falcons (4-5)  (Previous 23)

An opportunity to pretty much walk away with the division was at their fingertips- literally.  Week 10 put the Falcons on center stage to prove the dirty birds are a legitimate playoff contender this season- and the game slipped away from them early on.  Although they still have double the wins of the next two teams combined in their division, this was a statement game for Vet.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-6)  (Previous 21)

Nef and the Steelers have been inconsistent but overall they’ve been much better so far in season 2. Nef’s offense has been vastly improved with J.T. Daniels at the helm leading them to being a top 4 offense in total yards. At 3-6 most would say your season is over but with 8 games left all against opponents under .500, look for nef to make a run at the division leaning on the heels of his young workhorse back Najee Harris and his rookie qb.

23. Cleveland Browns (3-6)  (Previous 22)

After starting 3-3 Hd has lost 3 in a row and pretty much thrown the towel in on the playoffs. After benching #2 pick Desmond Ridder, you’d think making the change to Carson Wentz would uplift this team but that’s not been the case. With all this young talent on the roster, coach Hd has to find a way to get the best out of his talent or changes will need to be made in Cleveland.

24. Arizona Cardinals (4-4) (Previous 25)

Goose and the cards have heard all the noise and completely turned heads in season 2 of Pml. Going 1-16 with a promising roster was bad but Goose got in the lab and already has 4 wins at the halfway point showing signs of vast improvement. The improved play of Kyler Murray and the emergence of the #4 pass defense has done wonders halfway through the season down in Glendale.

25. New York Giants (2-6)  (Previous 24)

Burn and the Giants started off the season looking promising but have quickly come back to earth. After starting 2-0 the play of Daniel Jones along with their record has fallen off as they’ve gone 0-6 in the last 6 games along with 5 touchdowns to 29 picks… Daniel Jones has been underutilized and the Giants will see no progress until they upgrade their qb play.

26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-8)  (Previous 26)

I just don’t get it… The Raiders beat the jags but can’t beat anybody else. Dlloyd is completely underperforming down in Vegas. Jayden Daniels has got his job back and played better but this roster needs a makeover if the playoffs are in the future for coach lloyd.

27. Cincinnati Bengals (3-5)  (Previous 27)

The Bengals led by King Ke and new #1 Cole Turner have been up and down for the majority of the season with some good moments mixed in. Being able to put together consecutive wins is the biggest key for the Bengals as the division is still in reach and the games left are very winnable.

28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6)  (Previous 28)

Mali and Drew Lock have struggled mightily all season long and I don’t see it getting any better as the schedule only gets rougher. With the division still in reach I hope the Bucs and coach Mali used this bye week to reevaluate his scheme and the future of the quarterback position. Mali is learning, just like Jefe how having a goat at QB helps.

29. New Orleans Saints (2-7)  (Previous 29)

Cammy and the Saints are on vacation which might hinder the growth of his young qb Spencer Rattler. Missing a few winnable games will hurt but with the emergence of the passing game the Saints could be poised for a push at the division title once Coach Cammy returns.

30. Carolina Panthers (2-7)  (Previous 30)

After showing some signs of life early on, the Panthers have come back down to earth. With a very light schedule I had hopes of the Panthers winning their division but I was dead wrong. The QB situation needs to be addressed in the off-season or JT will be in the same spot come next year.

31. New York Jets (2-7)  (Previous 32)

Arod has been pretty off this season but found his way into the W column after last week. Although this season is lost, Zach Wilson has been better as the season progressed and hopefully they can ride this momentum through the final 8 weeks.

32. Minnesota Vikings (1-8)  (Previous 31)

JP and the Vikings find themselves sitting at the #1 through 10 weeks. The progress of Kellen Mond has hindered this franchise and at this point, replacing him at the end of the season is the only option with this gauntlet of a schedule coming up.
