The race for best Running Back in the PML is really a 3-man race between Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, and Jonathon Taylor. Taylor might face the most uphill battle down the stretch of achieving the rushing crown because of the surprise mid season coaching change that occurred in Indianapolis. Who knows if the offense and mainly the rushing attack will maintain its production with a new offensive playcaller. Henry has been the most dominant rusher in the league, to no surprise. Not only his yards rushing and his TDs he has produced, but the biggest stat that pops off the page to me in his average rushing yards after contact. He averages a whopping 3.4 yards per carry AFTER contact. That is just incredible and one of the scariest sights for opposing defenses because that means if you average hitting him within 1-2 yards of the line of scrimmage (which is great for a defense), then he’ll still manage to average 5+ yards per rush. That’s mind boggling. Nick Chubb isn’t far behind in the same category, but Chubb doesn’t have the rushing TDs that really match Henry or Taylor. Taylor has also added an additional 5 receiving TDs, so he is a big time dual-threat from the backfield.
