DK’s NFC Playoff Predictions

Week 18 is nearly over in the Premiere Madden League, and the playoffs are on the horizon. It has been a year of plenty ups and downs all across the league, but it is time to hone in on the most important time of the year for the NFC Conference.

The playoff seeding for the NFC is as follows with their respective records and matchups
1. Eagles – KMFO (16-1) BYE
2. Seahawks – Drama (12-5) vs 7. Packers – Jefe (10-7)
3. Lions – HypeMike (11-6) vs 6. Rams – Que (10-6)
4. Falcons – Vet (8-9) vs 5. Cowboys – CEO (14-3)

KMFO has been dominant all year and the only guy he has lost to is now out of the league in the former Colts coach, Mole. So we expect him to do well along with his first round bye. As far as the Wild Card Round is concerned, our first matchup will be the Seahawks with Coach Drama vs the Packers with Coach Jefe. The packers will be getting back their elite pass rusher next week in Za’Darius Smith, however who some consider the best LT in the league in David Bakhtiari, will be out until the Super Bowl if they can make it there. The Seahawks will be without a plethora of players, but most notably they will be without MLB Bobby Wagner and WR Julio Jones until the divisional round if they make it there. Regardless, we are concerned with the wild card round, and we know that Drama has done a ton of talking this season, but now he’s got to back it up on the field. I’m going to go with the favorite oddly enough in the 7 seeded Green Bay Packers. Next we have the lions with Coach HypeMike vs the Rams with Coach Que. The rams do have some notable injuries in this game, but none that they cant overcome in their LT Andrew Whitworth and DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, but the lions appear to be almost injury free as they have some low tier players that wont be available for this game. However, even with the injuries up front for LA, I have a good feeling that D line will create some havoc up front for detroit and help to bolster their run defense as the lions love to run the ball. I’m going to take the Rams here in a close one. Lastly the Cowboys with Coach CEO and the Falcons with Coach Vet will be facing off with the 4 and 5 seed matchup. CEO has played great football all year, with 2 of his 3 losses coming from the nearly undefeated, 1-seeded Eagles, and one coming from HypeMike late in the season. Vet won his division with a record of 8-9, but he is in the playoffs nonetheless and we expect him to take advantage of the opportunity. Both teams will be going into this game injury free fingers crossed that no one gets hurt in practice over the week. I expect CEO to move on to the next round, but its important that he doesn’t underestimate his opponent and takes care of business this week.

That moves us to the divisional round in the NFC. The 1-seeded Philadelphia Eagles with KMFO at the helm would be facing off the 7-seeded Green Bay Packers with Jefe. This game is gonna be an interesting one as we know that Aaron Rodgers has that rocket of an arm with gunslinger, and he is deadly accurate on the move outside of the pocket. However, he is playing the team with the best record in the league in the Eagles and KMFO, so he is gonna have to play mistake free football for the most part to give himself a chance against a defense that is full of ball hawks as they look to be the difference just as they have in almost every game this season. The Eagles will be fully healthy given that there are no injuries in practice and it’s hard to bet against KMFO, and I won’t be doing so here as the Eagles should be moving on in what may be a tight game. Then we would have the 6-seeded Rams in Que taking on the 5-seeded Cowboys with CEO. CEO has had a dominant year with a few slips ups, but he has played good cowboy football pounding the rock and establishing the run to set up his pass game. The Rams strong point is there defense, but the Cowboys strong point is there offense. I think this will be a super tight game, but down the stretch I believe CEO will make the plays necessary in a methodical manner to pull away with a win and move on to the conference championship.

That takes us to the NFC Championship game. Here KMFO and the Eagles would be met with CEO and the Cowboys. This would be a star studded game, and both teams with plenty of playmakers and the firepower necessary to win this game will be fighting to the end. Both of these guys are respectable opponents and guys that you can’t overlook. This will be the 3rd time they have met in total this season, and they say its hard to beat someone 3 times, but both games have ended in blowouts the Eagles way, and there is nothing I have seen that will convince me that the Eagles won’t walk away with a win here. Then KMFO will be facing off whoever comes out of the AFC, and time will tell who that is.

So there it is, those are my predictions for the NFC playoffs, I think there will most certainly be some great games to watch. I know I’ll slip up somewhere in predictions, but that’s the fun in all of this. I wish everyone good luck and may you guys be motivated to prove me wrong. I also want to give a special thanks in advance to the Texans Coach in Cook as we know he’ll be giving us some great Redzone streams!

Love you PML family, DK out
