AFC Record Update

Six weeks of Premier Madden League football have come and gone. We are officially onto week 7 of the season and we are here to check who is leading each division and who is officially the bottom feeder of each division.

AFC East:

Leader: Buffalo Bills (5-0)  – The Bills have had an impressive season thus far and they remain the only AFC team who is undefeated. Josh Allen has always been one of the best quarterbacks in the league, however, he was gifted new abilities this offseason which has made him almost impossible to stop. These Bills have a tough schedule this season, however, if everything stays on course we could be in for a treat as it would mean  a battle of the undefeateds matchup in week 18.

Bottom: New York Jets (0-5) – The Jets are who we thought they were. They have made a lot of moves these past few seasons, bettering their team overall, however, it hasn’t really helped in terms of winning games. They play in a tough division, and this is a key reason for their struggles but it seems that even in non divisional games, they arent competing. Something has to change with these teams whether that be a trade or something but if they don’t find a win this season, we will have a new coach for the Jets.

AFC West:

Leader:  Denver Broncos (5-1) – Ironically, the same team that they beat in the superbowl is the same team that gave the Broncos their only loss. The Eagles came to play in week 6, showing that there wasn’t gonna be a repeat of last year’s superbowl. The Broncos have lost talent, however, they are still winning games. This is a true testament to how good their coach really is.

Bottom: Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)- Someone has to be in the bottom of every division and for the AFC West it is the Chargers. They have played well this season, however, their defensive effort needs work if they are going to claw their way out of the basement. Quarterback Herbet just received some new abilities that will go a long way in getting the Chargers in the win column.

AFC North:

Leader: Pittsburgh Steelers  (3-3) – As they say, every division needs a winner and right now the Steelers are winning the participation trophy division that is the AFC North. The Steelers have built a good team, however, the Browns are the best overall team in the North. They have a win over the Browns already and that will go a long way as they need every win they can get. The road outside of the division only gets harder as the season goes on. If they can play smart, then we can see them holding the trophy at the end of the season.

Bottom: Baltimore Ravens (1-5) – The Ravens have been in this situation before. Season one saw them as last in the division during the first quarter, only for them to go on a winning streak, and win the division. They have a favorable remaining schedule and we can see them going on a run as long as they use Lamar the way he is supposed to be used. We don’t normally give trading tips in these articles but if the coach of the Ravens is reading this then take the advice and don’t trade a superstar lineman for peanuts. That is all.

AFC South:

Leader: Houston Texans (4-2) – The Texans have found themselves in first place for once. They started out as one of the worst teams in the league, however, have built a capable roster that when not heavily injured will compete. Coach Cook can keep up with any team in the league, and with this division he will need his team to stay healthy in order to keep the division lead. This is not a jynx, I repeat not a jynx.

Bottom: Indianapolis Colts  (1-5) – Well, well, well, how the mighty have fallen. Coming into a league where you say you’re better than most coaches, even making a list, then being given a superbowl winning roster, then only winning half of your games is not a good sign. The Colts did win the division last season, however, some feel that they didn’t deserve it. Coach Codes isnt doing himself any favors with his current record. He will need to do some serious winning if this public relations nightmare is to be fixed.

We have some fresh faces as division leading teams at the moment, however, the bigger news is the fact that the Ravens and Colts are at the bottom of their respective division. If the draft was today, they would each be picking in the top 10. We have a lot of season to go, however, both of these teams have some serious catch up to do. As for the division leading teams, no one is a lock to stay that way, however, the Broncos, and Bills have a great shot given their track records. We will come back around mid season in order to check on the divisions and see if anything has changed. I wont say what team it is but i expect one team will stay in the basement come next article.
