I FINALLY Had a Good Draft | Lions Draft Breakdown

This past season I think I have had my best draft I have ever had in my PML career. It only took about 5 seasons for me to hit on some draft picks. Today, I am analyzing all of my draft picks today and introducing a select few of them to PML.

Draft Pick #1: Travis Hunter

This guy was a projected top 5 draft pick when JT imported the class then on draft night he plummeted to a projected 1-2 round draft pick. That s*** did not fool me. As someone who knows football, I knew Travis Hunter was the best player in this draft class. No matter what Madden tried to trick me into doing, I knew he was going to be a great player. We traded our cornerstone Jeff Okudah and got a better offensive line in return. His replacement is Travis Hunter. Let’s take a look at some of his attributes.

94 Speed

95 Acceleration

75 Zone Coverage

78 Man Coverage

90 Jumping

Development Prediction: X Factor

This kid is already an upgrade from Okudah athleticism wise, and this is what we knew coming into the draft. Okudah was an amazing player for us but thanks to the amazing Madden regression system he became worse after leading the league in INTs during season 3 and dropped back to star dev. His abilities made up for his lack of speed and athleticism, and after that the Lions missed the playoffs. Now that we potentially have another ability corner paired with PS2 we might be able to make another run. We can afford to run more man coverage than ever before with Travis Hunter in our secondary.

Draft Pick #2: Robert Woodyard

The main thing behind this draft pick is speed and change of direction. He was the fastest Outside Linebacker in the draft and landed in Detroit. His attributes are not too bad as well.

76 Hit Power

71 Zone Coverage

88 Speed

82 Change of Direction

Development Prediction: Normal

He needs a lot of work technically but he is a very athletic Linebacker who will be on the field when we are in 3-4 or 4-3 defensive sets.

Draft Pick #3: Kam Arnold

I finally have a SUBLB to play. I have not had one since I had the Chargers roster last Madden. The thing is, I’m just 5 seasons too late. Kam Arnold is an athletic safety who is eligible to play LB in certain situations. We love to sit in nickel sets so this works out perfectly for our defense. Let’s take a look at his attributes.

88 Speed

75 Zone Coverage

82 Jumping

89 Hit Power

88 Change of Direction

Development Prediction: Normal

Not only is he agile, he can hit extremely hard. That 89 hit power is something special. I expect this man to catch many picks and cause fumbles while patrolling the middle of the field.

Final Draft Pick: Bryson Washington

Believe it or not, I actually drafted another starter worthy player! Coming in at 76 overall is safety Bryson Washington. He was originally a free safety then we switched him to strong safety because of his lack of coverage skills. Here are his attributes.

89 Speed

88 Acceleration

78 Jumping

92 Hit Power

91 Pursuit

72 Play Recognition

Development Prediction: Star

As you can see we have another HARD hitter in our secondary. This team is fast and can cause FUMBLES. It is upsetting we hit on so many picks in Season 5, but it is better to do this late than never.

That wraps up my intro to my draft picks today, hopefully you all enjoyed this. I have NEVER drafted a player above normal dev this ENTIRE cycle. This did not help at all with the worst launch team in the NFC. Let’s see if my prayers finally get answered this draft.
