PML Hot Takes | Volume 4

I’m back! Today I’m with my dawg… one of my closest PML pals…some call him Old Mike, Uncle Mike, or KingMike. Either way, both the Mikes are here and we finna deliver some JUICY content. ENJOY!

Hypemike Hot Take #1: The select few of guys who always get the same team will not get their team again in Madden 23 besides JT and Goose.

It is time for some changes in Madden 23 and I think JT realizes that (team selection wise). Him and Goose actually fit their teams skill wise and build them up pretty well. On the other hand, HD is done getting the Browns every cycle. I think if he is put in another division with another team he will try even harder to compete. I think this will bring the best out of him, hopefully. CEO has had the Cowboys back to back cycles and has been arguably the most consistent player in BOTH cycles. It is finally time for him to have a team that fits his skill level. I think JT will have him in a decent division but with a much less talented team. How about giving CEO a passing team? Make him play out of his comfort zone. The cowboys are too good and FIT his playstyle too well for him to have them again in Madden 23.

Uncle Mike Hot Take #1: King Keraun is Tanking.

Now we all know I am a real-life fan of Keraun and his comedic work, but I am not jaded with this take. Keraun has slowly learned the culture of PML and realized his initial mindset and standoff nature when he joined the league did him harm on the virtual field. With that being said, this man plays every facet of life to win. The same can be said for Madden as well. Seeing him lose some of the games he loses then bounce back and perform at a high level in other games when the lights are on makes me think he got some of that Nef play up or down to his competition with his Madden game. I have a feeling he has a much better cycle in Madden 23 and becomes an even more embedded member of PML.

Hypemike Hot Take #2: Z has a lot to prove in Madden 23.

A lot of guys think Z is a top 10 player in PML based off of everything he has accomplished all time. He has had 2 great rosters in back to back cycles moving from Minnesota to the LA Chargers. He’s competed in the playoffs most of the time during both cycles and made a SB appearance with the Vikings I believe. This cycle he seemed to have gone off the radar in a sense. He is in a very tough conference do not get me wrong but he is put in the tier of top guys in the league. I think this Season 5 is very big while moving into Madden 23 for him.

Uncle Mike Hot Take #2: Bubba will get a reality check in M23 but will be all the better for it…

Its safe to safe Bubba had a pretty good cycle in M22. Although he hasn’t won a Super Bowl with his beloved Bills like he said he would, that does not mean he did not run through the league for over 10 months. Mind you… he had a dominate madden team… not necessarily a dominate scheme. Bubba is going to the hood next cycle, the only real question is will he have a team with assets for him to compete with against some dawg a** coaches or will he have a h*** division AND a terrible team? That remains to be seen, but Bubba needs to see what it is like to build from scratch while competing with in a top division week in and week out… that may eventually be the catalyst he needs to make a run at a ring.

Hypemike Hot Take #3: Que always says he is in playoff mode, but has not done much since Season 1.

Listen y’all Que is my guy he already know I just be talking. Half the league doesn’t take me serious anyways. I will say though Que has not made it to the NFC championship again after making it in season 1. One may say: why are you still calling him out if he did so well in season 1? Well, as predicted his playoff runs got shorter as teams got better. He had to 99 overall players on his team and arguably had a top 2 win now team in the NFC. Que just played on par to his team overall and has not done much since. The NFC got better roster wise and guys were able to start hanging with that star studded rams team. It will interesting to see what happens with Que moving forward, but I do really wanna see him actually tap into that mode he says he would. I will never forget when he was hyped up about playing me in the first round then got rolled up by us in Detroit. Man. Lol I be on Que head that’s my guy though.

Uncle Mike Hot Take #3: Arod rivals cook with team building.

Ok I know I know… he drafted at the top of each draft and therefore had an easy opportunity to build. That may be true, but the man has shown that he can wheel and deal with the best of them REGARDLESS of his draft position. I have no doubt that if he had more season to go in this cycle he could rebuild the Chiefs and fixes those terrible financials that DK left that front office. I’d like to see Arod with a really good team that has a terrible cap situation on the horizon, like the Rams or something along those lines.

EXTRA UNCLE Mike Hot Take: The NFC South Quietly had a pretty good cycle.

That NFC aint really nothing to play with. This is no joke either. Don’t let their records fool you! That division has had so many quality upsets that at some point we might have to consider if they are really upsets or not. Shout out to JT, Cammy, Mali, and Vet! If you see them on your schedule you better ice up.

Okay that is everything. If you all have any suggestions or changes drop them in general chat, start a discussion! I’ll be back with another article soon.
