No Tanks in New York

The tanking accusations surrounding the Jets following coach spdot’s takeover have been flying around, and I am here to put an end to it. Let’s start with the general facts about the matter. Coming in to PML as a new user is a major disadvantage, anytime someone joins a league there is a feeling out process, whether its with the users, the team, or the sliders, but its often all three. PML plays on default sliders, but many people have said that the league feels way different than any other ones that they’re in, and I agree. New users are also restricted from using custom playbooks, which may not be a big deal for leagues on 7 minute quarters but 10 minute quarters makes it very difficult to use a base playbook.

Now lets go game by game from when I took over the Jets to the end of season 3.

Game 1 vs Buffalo. First game in the league and I am playing the most busted player in the league. The main theme of this slump to end the season was offensive struggles, which led to losing this game 24-20. Not terrible to start the PML career, definitely put up a fight against a consistent too tier team.

Game 2 vs Dallas. Another game where the offense struggled, but the game was close until Zach Wilson threw it away in the second half. Defense played well by forcing 4 turnovers but the jets were unable to get anything going on the ground. Another loss against a debatably top 5 current user in the league.

Game 3 vs KC. Probably the worst game of the whole season. I have legitimately never seen an offensive line perform worse in a game than in this one. I pride myself on being able to avoid sacks and negative plays, but I was sacked 8 times and threw 6 picks in this game, once again struggling on offense. The defense continued to play well holding KC to 35 points despite the 6 ints.

Game 4 vs NYG. The first win, beating a team we were supposed to beat, defense held the giants to 10 points but the offense sputtered again only putting up 24 points, along with a defensive score.

Game 5 vs Denver. The reigning Super Bowl champ who would go on to win it again later this season, we lost by 14. Not the worst outcome, but poor offensive line play averaging 2 ypc and giving up 4 sacks cost us the game

Game 6 vs New England. The dot vs greeny rivalry happens for the first time in PML, offense was better but still not great, we win 45-20

Game 7 vs Las Vegas. If you can still think I was tanking after watching this game idk what to tell you, we go down 21-0 and fight all the way back to tie the game at 31 before losing on a last second field goal. Offensive line still could not get any push in the run game, only averaging 3 ypc.

Looking back at the Super Bowl season the Jets did not run through the regular season before turning it up for the playoffs. The jets had a stretch mid season
