The PML season is officially underway. We have a lot of returning coaches that were in PML last season and a few new faces with the fire to make a name for themselves. There are plenty of hot takes to go around, so we’re breaking them up by conference, and we are going to dive into some bold predictions for this upcoming season/cycle.
Houston… We have a problem.
But, not the kind of problem that you think. We all know that Problem is one of the best Madden players of all time, but this Houston Texans roster is one of the lowest rated in the league. It’s gonna be a struggle for him to compete with the better rosters in season 1, especially ones where the opponent’s abilities may change the outcome of the game.
Don’t call it a comeback.. Or a tank job.
HypeMike went from one bottom tier roster to the next. The Jaguars are slightly better than the Lions in Madden, but it’s going to be rough season 1. Trevor Lawrence will have one of the worst QBRs in the league and the Jaguars will have a top 5 pick for the first draft of the cycle.
Jonathan Taylor will win the MVP, but won’t lead his team to a playoff berth?
You may be questioning how this could be possible, but the new Colts coach is gonna tote the rock with Jonathan Taylor. He’s gonna flirt at 80% usage all season long, but this division is too tough to be one dimensional. Matt Ryan is gonna sail pass after pass and the Colts are gonna fall on their faces this season.
The Titans will lean on Derrick Henry until he hits a brick wall.
Derrick Henry is one of the highest rated running backs in the league and he’s one of the fastest players on the Titans offense. He’s going to have 25 touches every game, but will that exhaust him as the season progresses? Malik Willis is going to be the starter and while it may be the right move, it’s not going to find success right out of the gate.
Lamar Jackson is going to win the triple crown and demand to be the highest paid quarterback in the league.
Lamar Jackson is going to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. He will also rush for 1,500 yards and the Baltimore Ravens will average 30 minutes of offense in each game this season. Kingke has committed himself to Lamar Jackson and he is willing to do whatever it takes to prove that Lamar deserves the type of contract that he is demanding.
Joeyy Burrr will lead the league in interceptions and lose his abilities.
Cammy will stay drunk the entire cycle when playing league games because he believes that it is his best way to win games, but its the opposite for him and Joe Burrow will pay the price.
A Bird.. a Plane.. Oh, is that Ryan Leaf’s twin?
Kenny Pickett is going to establish himself in PML as one of the worst first round quarterbacks in history. He will battle his AFC North counterpart Joey Burrow to see who can throw the most interceptions in season 1. T.J Watt will be the saving grace for the Steelers after every interception and he will lead the league in sacks.
HD was a better Browns user?
Vet has been in PML for awhile and really hasn’t found much success. The Cleveland Browns are loaded from top to bottom, but they don’t have draft picks and because of Watson’s contract, their cap space is minimal. Vet will struggle to keep the ship afloat and he will be in the bottom 5 all cycle long.
Josh Allen is the best quarterback in Madden.
Josh Allen is going to be the reason that the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs this season. His throw power and his abilities are top notch, but Buffalo will fall short in their first playoff game and they won’t be able to get over the hump and win a playoff game.
The Jets struggle to find their place in the AFC.
Quinnen Williams will be the best defensive tackle in the PML by the end of the cycle. The Jets will be in the top 10 in sacks led by Quinnen Williams who will have over 20 sacks in season 1.
Coach Que will curse Tua out with every interception that he throws and the Dolphins miss the playoffs until he’s replaced.
Tua’s throwpower is a real problem when you have two of the fastest players in the game catching his passes. Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are going to get open down the field, but it is expected that unless Tua can get some upgrades, a lot of his passes are going to fall short of their intended receiver. Que is going to keep most of his games close, but Tua will be the reason he loses some of them.
Nef will have the 1st overall pick in the draft, BUT, he will have fun in every game he plays.
Coach Nef is going to be the punching bag of his division, but he will scout and dissect every team that he plays this season. He will love every minute of it because he’s a dog and he has fight in him. He’s ready for the challenge and it will only make him better as the cycle progresses.
Patrick Mahomes will lose his abilities in season 1.
We all saw how Jac treated Lamar Jackson last cycle and it is expected that he’s going to hit the interception threshold and Patty Mahomes will regress a development trait. Although, the Chiefs will tailor to a passing offense and Mecole Hardman will emerge as one of the best receivers in the league this cycle. The Kansas City faithful will forget all about Tyreek Hill and rave of Mecole forcing ownerships to give him one of the highest contracts when it comes time to resign him.
Coach Deebo embraces PML and pours content into the Broncos, but he misses the playoffs season 1.
Russell Wilson was disgraced with his 87 overall by EA but coach Deebo has a lot to work with in his young offense. He is going to struggle until he finds his offense and when he can use his custom playbook, but in season 2, he will be a dominant player in the AFC. He will go 6-0 in the division for the rest of the cycle.
HD will blow up the Chargers and aim to ‘rebuild them’ after winning his division in season 1.
The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the best rosters with very good ability players and that will be enough for HD to compete. However, once the rest of the league is able to develop and content their teams up, he will fall by the waste side. His only option will be to trade for players that he “believes” fit his style of play.
Matigy will struggle to hold his own in PML but his rushing attack is off the charts.
The Raiders head coach will fail to leave a lasting impression as he fails to win any of his division games, but Josh Jacobs will carry the ball more than any other quarterback in the league. This amount of carries will allow any game player versus the Raiders to finish with 45 real minutes, by far the fastest in the league.
