Potential players that could be traded from the Bengals come offseason

Even though the Bengals are having a stellar season and are performing well, they have a lot of young superstars that are due for a contract soon including their franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. There have been rumours going around the front office that key veterans/players on this offense and defense could be shipped out in the offseason for picks to help them out with cap space in the future. Here is a look at some of the players that have been rumoured to be on the block.

Edge Rusher Trey Hendrickson, 27 years old

Although Trey has just recently signed a contract with the Bengals and is their star pass rusher he hasn’t been available for most of their games. With getting injured for the second time this season Trey has only played in 4 out of their 9 games. At 27 years old and that contract no matter how good you are this organization believes that the best ability is availability and Trey hasn’t shown that he can be available yet.

Wide Receiver Tyler Boyd, 27 years old

Tyler Boyd might come as a surprised to some people reading this as a member be shopped while other people who have watched the Bengals offense play know that Boyd doesn’t really offer much to this offense other than being a decoy in the middle or up the seam. He hasn’t produced much in this offense at all with only a little over 100 yards in 9 games and as his age isn’t getting any younger and his contract being up next year you can bet that the Bengals will look to ship him out for the right deal. I’ve also heard that they are fully content on keeping him for the rest of his contract too if they can’t find the right price for him seeing as he is still a very good player for this team.

Corner Back Mike Hilton, 28 years old

A lot of coaches in the Bengals front office are pleased with Hiltons performance this year it’s just that they want to move on to younger talent that they have in the defensive back room. The biggest reason why his name is even up for discussion though despite the age is sources are saying that the defensive coach for the Bengals wants his defensive backs to have height and at 5’9 Mike Hilton does not bring that to the table. There is younger pieces who can replace him in the slot and faster players who can play on the outside which makes him the odd man out in this room come offseason.

Edge Rusher Sam Hubbard, 27 years old

Bengals fans might think that the Bengals front office are crazy considering trading their leading edge rusher in sacks in the offseason but I’ve heard that they aren’t too fond of Sam. If Trey wasn’t consistently hurt they were considering on replacing Hubbard with younger edge rusher Joseph Ossai who currently has 5.5 sacks on the year. The amount of money that Hubbard is currently making on the roster does not please the new GM of the Bengals Camsus Christ and reports are that he dead set on moving him for a couple later draft picks so he can save some cap room.

Defensive Back Daxton Hill, 22 years old

This is a huge reach because he is a rookie but there are rumours floating around that Daxton Hill was almost on his way out to Philadelphia before the trade deadline until the Bengals decided to kill that whole conversation. With the surprise emergence of Vonn Bell at safety leading the team in turnovers and Jessie Bates resigning a contract with the Bengals long term I can see either Daxton Hill being shipped out only if it’s the right price seeing how the Bengals have already turned down a first and more for him allegedly or they make him switch to cornerback fulltime and he earns his starting reps there.
