Dline: This group was easily the worst on the team. Bilal Nichols is the only NFL caliber player here and actually had a pretty good season. Matthew butler ended the season with one tackle, he didn’t start but he def had some PT and one tackle is just pathetic. Neil ferrall had 2 tackles and .5 sacks once again pathetic. By week 10 we just signed a bunch of 300 pounders off the street so they only played half of the season but made 0 impact. This group desperately needs talent so we will look to add players all 3 ways u possibly can.
LB: The best thing about this defense is going to be the edge rushers in Crosby and jones. Chandler jones being the only player with abilities on this defense was underwhelming with 15 solo tackles and 10 sacks. Crosby with 18 solo tackles and 8.5 sacks was actually borderline elite against the run and solid pass rushing. Overall the pass rush was above avg at best and meh at worst. Could put some blame on the interior not helping at all along with feeling like there’s a gaping hole in the middle of ur defense so I was always playing my hardest to not let it be easy up the middle while playing pass. MLB were eh. Deablo was underwhelming, with linebackers not getting animations and his pursuit and blockshed so low he really was just a fast body. But that should earn him another year of starting. Brown was overall pretty good. I think we will just run this group back next year.
CBS: with 90 speed CBS as ur 1&2 it’s hard to ever think we will run much man ever. Besides their limitations it’s a solid group. The slot had 3 diff players start and def gonna look for someone to play this. Or maybe Abram could move down here and find a better cvg SS. And that would also help out the Run D.
Safteys: Safteys Abram and Moehrig were the best players on the defense with Moe basically being the 2nd best player on the team. He led the team in tackles, had 11 INTs& 5 FFs. And in DPOY conversation. We would honestly prefer someone else leading the team in tackles but he’s a beast and carried this defense. We could add an SS and move abram to slot. Especially since he only had 6 pick 3 FF, I feel like he struggled a bit in the secondary and looked lost at times. We gotta put him in position to hit more.
