There were some big moves before the trade deadline and some panned out quite well while others not so much . Season 2 it’s always bigger and better trades but these trades in season 1 may ch age the landscape of pml for the whole cycle ! I’m going to revisit some of those trades here .
Titans and Eagles, Eagles, receive Derrick, Henry titans, receive Avonte, Maddox Quez walkins, and the Saints first round pick .
Eagles side
Initially, when I did my trade article, my thoughts were that the Eagles won because they just needed a running game to be more successful because of all the interceptions they threw, but since that trade the interceptions haven’t stopped they actually lost more games than before the trade and they went from 31st ranked in rushing to a whopping 27th . Derrick henry had no impact on the success of the Eagles team. It’s actually sad that I gave the eagles coach the benefit of the doubt well everyone told me he screwed up.
Titans side
Bubba wasn’t interested in winning anyway so he traded Someone who could help him win. I didn’t say you were ranking bubba relax and and go smoke . But the fact remains Derrick leaving helped you lose and now you’re set up and built for the future.. no matter the madden 99 speed is 99 speed Quez was and is the prize of the trade . Avonte maddox was key as well . But getting an additional first rounder when you holes is key .
The verdict . Titans win by a million
The jets receive roquan smith bears recieve a 2nd and future 1st
Jets side :
You would like to always win immediately win acquiring a veteran like roquon even though the jets didn’t do that . The 1st they gave up is a future so i can’t really say the lost until i see what they do next year
Bears side
As the real roquon was traded for way less it’s clear the bears won this trade and the trade committee thinks they know football but they are clearly fools . Exactly what everybody has been saying . Again i tried to give them time benifit of the doubt but i was wrong
Verdict : bears win
Patriots receive the second third and fourth round pick Texans receive odell Beckham and Jonathan Jones
Patriots side : an absolute home run . Odell was free and jonathon wasn’t going to be anything special . That rebuild looks good in Boston hopefully the thumbs are rebuilt too .
Texans :it would been a decent trade if the person wasgone be here and make a run but he isn’t . I said on every show the Texans are making moves like he doesn’t plan to be here much longer and i was right . Problem is a fat b**** .
Patriots by a million
Packers receive Baker Mayfield panthers receive the second round pick
Packers side
In the beginning this look like a terrible trade it look like wow but now king Mike might’ve been on something Aaron rodgers doesn’t enhance his team if anything he is in the way, but if he goes to having a quarterback like Baker, that can just make the throws when he needs him to We will see the king Mike of Old I’m thinking. This actually isn’t a bad trade as initially thought
Panthers side
For the Panthers this trade was a home run and is still a home run. Baker wasn’t in the future plans and that pic can be used on Spencer Sanders drops Mike
Verdict .. panthers still but the gap decreased slightly
Jaguars received Jordan love Packers receive third round pick.
Jags side
You can’t argue with the results here Jordan love as the starter and the jags are the number one seed. The problem is two things. I think the jags would’ve been here regardless if they just stuck with Trevor Lawrence, but let’s say you’re here now, and you have the opportunity to trade Trevor to get more well the trade committee has already shown that they want somebody to give up their whole team for Trevor Lawrence and I don’t see anybody jumping out there for Trevor. They still looks like a bad trade.
Packers
I don’t believe Jordan love is the answer at quarterback, so it’ll be able to flip them for anything is worth it

How big does this tray look now with the injury to Curtis Samuels even then the offensive rich got richer in this trade . Sam has all the weapons he just needs to points and the o-line

Rams did a win now trade and it’s looking like it could pay off in a big way the same way the trade for Matt Stafford did the previous year

The Saints, where, in cap h*** with no pics to be able to get some cap relief and a the draft pick is key in the beginning of the rebuild of the Saints and coach burn has already shown he can win with his team as presently constructed

I’m so tired of saying Nef won . But it’s true no way would i think devin could go for a 3rd but he knows something about Hd and what he likes

This is all depending on if Devin McCourty doesn’t lose his abilities, I can’t even call it a bad trade because the chargers don’t have many holes were they need a third round pick, but I just wouldn’t have done it

You honestly cannot argue with this trade, especially seeing that the Bucs defense is still Dominent also to be able to get a second and third round pick knowing your team is old and you need picks if you wanna move up for a quarterback, this was a great move that didn’t change how good the team was

Giant swap Julian love for these two guys, and end up getting more in the deal huge dub

At the end of the day they’re in the divisional round, and their defense has been playing great Julian love is really a good player

In the end it’s easy to grade trade months after they are completed and everybody did what they thought was best for their team. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, but in the end, if you can live with your decision, there’s nothing left to talk about.
