The Colts had holes at Edge, HB, WR2, LT, RG, FB, and most glaringly… Quarterback. They somehow filled all of those and got a tight end and MLB2.
Pick 5: Kayshon Boutte is a 95 speed receiver that is unfortunately probably going to end up as just a star, but remember what I did back in Madden 21 with Arjei Henderson. I went so hard with Henderson it most likely cost me a spot the following cycle but I’m back and a more responsible user. Boutte will be great and really be a true threat for this team, but I won’t go overboard. Anyway, Boutte and Pittman are the speed and size combo that will mess with defensive backs everywhere.
Pick 8: Jalen Carter isn’t the fastest edge but he makes the defensive line elite with Buckner, Stewart, and Paye and will still be a force in nickel and dime sets off the edge. The 4 time mock draft first overall pick I have hope he can get a great dev and have to be feared or even double teamed regularly.
Pick 37: Jordan McFadden might be my left tackle, he might be my right guard. I haven’t decided and I took him cause at this point I knew Levis would last to 40 and i wanted to let people think I was rolling with Drew Lock for an extra couple minutes. Regardless, McFadden fills a hole in the offensive line with good blocking attributes and can hopefully get star dev but it’ll be a little bit of a struggle with his low strength
Pick 40: Will Levis was rumoured to go as high as pick 4 and he lasted to pick 40 going after Devin Leary. I was all in on Hendon Hoocker for some reason and going to ruin my draft if I wasn’t blessed with Levis like I was. Probably bound for normal dev but Levis is an all around guy who if he plays good enough, will be the future in Indianapolis. Anyway, 4 top 40 picks, 4 biggest holes filled.
3rd Round Pick 29: Zach Charbonet is just slower Jonathan Taylor in my honest opinion. He did great in the sim so maybe a diamond in the rough when it comes to dev trait but he has solid speed and good strength so I can bring him in in any formation and trust him to get it done. Hines will still be apart of this offense, but now I have a 1-2 punch again that I believe will make it work behind this line.
4th Round Pick 8: Walter Parks is somehow even weaker than McFadden but a great blocker once again, if his overall is high enough he could find himself as a starting offensive lineman on this team for the rest of the cycle. Doesn’t hurt that he went to Clemson but 95% sure he ends up as normal dev.
5th Round Pick 8: Steele Chambers was a name I kept sawing in the award races for the college sim and he went to Ohio State so maybe I get blessed but regardless he’ll be a great depth piece with 89 speed at linebacker to replace Shaq Leonard, Bobby Okereke, or Donte Hightower if any of them go down with an injury.
7th Round Pick 8: Jay Symonds doesn’t have the speed I necessarily want in a fullback but he’s a dawg in all types of blocking. Clearing holes for the new running back and maybe even getting some touches himself. It’s fullback season- look out.
7th Round Pick 32: MR. IRRELEVANT is… Davis Allen a solid tight end out of Clemson who isn’t very fast but he’ll get some snaps in jumbo packages and could prove his worth in preseason.
The overalls aren’t as high as I’d like, specifically McFadden and Levis although their attributes are good. Boutte, Carter, Charbonet, and Parks are what make this Colts class potentially special.
