- Malik Willis- The Titans QB came to play week 1, looking like a whole different QB than he was last season. Malik threw 3 first half TDs before being pulled at halftime due to the Titans huge lead. Malik was almost perfect leading the offense to a huge first game, specifically finding WR Quez Watkins twice in the endzone, including a beautiful jump ball and RAC in the first half. A connection that hopefully continues to develop between QB 1 and WR1 this season.
2. Bijan Robinson- the 10th overall pick looked dominant in his debut. The rookie carried the ball 14 times for 139 yards and a TD on the ground in only 1 half of play. Bijan played pivotal role, in helping to carry the Titans to a 49 point first half. The Titans will continue to run the offense through the running game, with both Robinson and Willis’s legs.
3. Titans DL- The addition of DE Montez Sweat, and return of injured pass rusher Harold Landry III, the Titans DL was dominant vs Carolina. The Titans tallied 3 sacks, along with a fumble return TD in the first half. The entire defense fed off the DL energy, with the back end being the beneficiaries of errant throws due to pass rush.
4. Coaching staff- This win may be biggest for the coaching staff. After much criticism from around the league following last season, a big W this week is a relief. This gives the team a great week of football to build off of, and they will need just that as they go into LV next week, who is also coming off a victory.
