As we approach Christmas and the holidays, this is what the imaginary NFC East fanbases in the PML alternate universe are wishing for at this point in the season.
Jcclutch’s Thoughts
Commanders: Sam Howell to get some recognition. As a rookie he led a team with a solid amount of holes to the NFC Championship and has started this season pretty well at 4-2. Howell has proven he’s the guy in Washington, but he still hasn’t been crowned as even a star to outside fans. He should be in MVP talks at the very least.
Giants: Daniel Jones’s execution. This may seem harsh but the coaching staff and front office gave him a massive extension after he was carried by his defense and run game all of last year and was a main reason for their one and done playoff loss. He’s been mid again to start the season and his death might be the only way to get out of that awful contract.
Eagles: An Easier Schedule. The Eagles are 3-2 which is better than the world of PML predicted them to be, but much like last season they’re bound to fall off. Only 3 of their games for the rest of the season look winnable in my opinion and that will only bring back to the talks that the Eagles need a new coach.
Cowboys: A Season do-over. There’s unfortunately no other thing Cowboys fans might want. They probably mistakenly thought this was the year for Dem Boyz again and are getting clowned once again. Week 1 looked incredibly promising but it’s been missed opportunity after missed opportunity since and those close losses will hurt as the season progresses.
Spdot’s Thoughts
Commanders: Terry McLaurin to get back in to form. Through 6 games scary Terry has 12 catches and is averaging 44 yards per game. Sam Howell seems to be struggling just a bit with his top WR seeming to be shut down by opposing CBs. With how this ground game is rolling if the Commanders are able to get the most out of their dynamic WRs they will be a force in the NFC.
Giants: Leonard Williams and Kenny Golladay out the door. Two massive contracts that are not producing for what they are getting are holding the Giants roster back. With the money freed up the Giants can afford to upgrade at QB or WR on offense, and fill out the holes on defense. The Giants won’t have to wait too long for this to happen, but they may have to rely on Saquon for the rest of the season.
Eagles: A rental QB. Jalen Hurts is what is really holding this team back. 14 interceptions taking the ball away from Derrick Henry and this OL simply can not happen. 75 Normal dev doesn’t make it seem like Hurts is the future either. The Eagles either need to fully commit to the run with Henry and Hurts or find someone to get the ball to AJ Brown and Devonta Smith.
Cowboys: 2016 Zeke. It’s no secret that Zeke is not the player he once was, and the Dallas run game is struggling. Zeke is averaging 3.6 ypc and Tony Pollard isn’t much better at 4.2. The rest of the roster is super talented but if you can’t get people to respect the run your offense is limited.
