Transcript: Commanders Head Coach Press Conference

What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?

You know, the 49ers are playing real solid football lately. I think one of the keys was forcing turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. They've got a lot of talent and athleticism on that Offense as well as their front 7. I feel we beat them on in the run game and that was the main difference in the game. Finally, our resiliency. We were able to hold strong when it mattered on the 2 pt. conversion to seal the win. At 7-3 already, we've proven that we can fight tooth and nail with the rest of the league and come out on top.

What is the status of Terry McLaurin and when is he set to return?

Scary Terry is out for the next 3-4 weeks. We really want to stay cautious and make sure he is 100% before we decide to bring him back. We will look for some of our younger WRs to really step up and pull some weight in a passing offense that has really struggled. Watch out for Rookie Dontayvion Wicks to see some more targets. We hope Terry will be able to return for our 2nd game against the Giants. A game that could determine the division.

Some would say this team has the toughest remaining schedule ahead. How do you prepare for such a difficult remaining schedule?

We just have to take each game one at a time. As easy as it could be, we can't be looking ahead to Week 14 against New York. We got 2 football games to win before then. With a net score of -4 through 10 games, I'd say I'm pretty happy to hear we are 7-3. But look around at this NFC. You need every win you can get. And we've been winning by narrow margins. This team has shown the tenacity to win close games. They need to continue playing with that fire and competitiveness. We must take each game week to week.
