What can you attribute to having one of the top-scoring teams in the league to this point?
Our offense is extremely efficient against just about any coverage. Having a strong, physical receiver that also has elite speed like DK Metcalf puts defenses in a conundrum as they try to account for him every play. We also have Tyler Lockett who is great at getting open in the slot. When he returns from injury, Bo Melton provides another option with elite speed (95+) as he has a penchant for getting open and beating defenders in the open field. We pair that with a strong running game manned by Kenneth Walker and you have all the ingredients necessary for a top offensive unit.
RB Kenneth Walker III is so impressive, how hard he runs is so apparent. What else about his skill set makes him special?
Kenneth not only has elite speed, he's able to catch the ball out of the backfield very effectively. Being a dual-threat back gives defenses headaches because often times they will be matched up with linebackers who do not have the athleticism to keep up with them on routes. Kenneth is also extremely efficient with his carries, rarely fumbling the ball and breaking off big gains if the defense takes a bad angle. A true home-run hitter.
Can you describe kind of the energy or the mood and the vibe in the building now coming in the home stretch?
We feel confident. All of our losses this year have been by 7 points or less and we haven't not been in any of the games we've played in. Mental mistakes by the coaching staff late as well as "madden breaks"/momentum, as some would say, has cost us more games than our own ability. While we might not necessarily control our own destiny outside of winning games, we d*** sure don't plan to lay down and give up on the season.
