PML Mock Draft hosted by ESPN

1st Pick: Chiefs (9-8) select Safety James Williams from Miami. Mel Kiper Jr: “Well, the Chiefs go with the safe pick here and take James Williams. He’s a solid player and will definitely help their secondary. But, I have to say, I’m a bit surprised they didn’t go with a different position. Oh well, I guess they know what they’re doing.”

2nd Pick: Panthers (2-15) select Cornerback Kool-Ade McKinstry from Alabama. Todd McShay: “The Panthers desperately needed help in their secondary and they get it with McKinstry. He’s a physical corner with great ball skills. However, unless the Panthers are intending on putting Kool-Ade at free safety, this pick doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.”

3rd Pick: Patriots (3-14) select Quarterback Caleb Williams from USC. Mel Kiper Jr: “The Patriots are in a bit of a rebuilding phase and they go with the quarterback of the future in Caleb Williams. He’s got a strong arm and a great pocket presence. This is a smart pick for them, they’re getting a potential franchise quarterback.”

4th Pick: Bears (8-9) select Right Tackle Joe Alt from Notre Dame. Todd McShay: “The Bears have been struggling with their offensive line for years and they address that with this pick. Joe Alt is a big, physical tackle who will help protect their quarterback. This is a solid pick for them.”

5th Pick: 49ers (7-10) select Left End Korey Foreman from USC. Mel Kiper Jr: “The 49ers get a steal here with Foreman, he’s got great speed and power. He’ll be a disruptive force on their defense. This is a great pick for them and I think he’ll be a Pro Bowler in no time.”

As Mel Kiper Jr continues to give his analysis on the next pick, Todd McShay interrupts him and sucker punches him in the middle of the analysis. The draft is halted for a moment as security escorts Todd McShay out of the studio.
