Every season in the Premier Madden League the highest performing players, have the biggest impact on their teams success and that often times translates to them upgrading the speed at which they develop. In Madden players develop as normal, silver, Superstar or X-Factor’s. Each stage in their elevation is preceeded by a dev game, in which certain statistical feats need to be accomplished in order for a player to achieve the next level in their development. For season 3 we will be coming to you at the end of each week to highlight which players had the biggest impact for their teams, and could possibly be on the pace for a dev game in the following week. Without further adieu here are the players to watch for Week 2 in PML.
- Justin Fields – QB, Jacksonville Jaguars: In week 1 vs the Washington Commanders, newly acquired Fields had a day after his own name (field day) against the normally stout Commanders front 7. 10/12, 278 yards, 4 TD’s passing with 1 TD on the ground. 5 TD’s in a week one performance is why Justin Fields is a player to watch for a dev game in week 2.
2. Devin Leary – QB, Miami Dolphins: The 2nd year player out of N.C. State had a career performance against the Indianapolis Colts, accounting for 4 TD’s on 12/14 passing amassing 297 yards in the process. Currently at a Normal dev, this week one showing has him in our sights for Week 2.
3. Taysom Hill – TE, New Orleans Saints: In week 1 vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hill was the Saints most consistent weapon on offense, catching 8 passes for 186 yards, adding one touchdown. At a normal dev this performance may have put him in a position to elevate his dev next week.
4. Quentin Skinner – WR, Cincinnati Bengals: In an offense that already has alot of fire powe, Skinner found himself excelling above them all. Catching 8 passes for 147 yards and 2 TD’s has him on our watch list for week 2.
5. Alex Highsmith – Edge Rusher, Kansas City Chiefs: On a defense that was all over the Cleveland Browns in week 1, Highsmith was present on almost every play. Finishing the game with 9 tackles, 3 for loss, a Sack and a forced fumble, this normal dev player may be due for an upgrade in week 2.
6. Brian Branch – SS, Jacksonville Jaguars: This 2nd year player out of Alabama showed why he was a top prospect out of college, accounting for 3 Interceptions week 1 against the Washington Commanders, his current star dev could have the potential to go to SS if he duplicates this type of performance in week 2.
