Reality or Overreaction: Packers are lost without Rodgers, Tyree Jackson is the man to lead Dallas

Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

Dramaman

The Buffalo Bills are just as Dangerous Offensively as the Miami Dolphins.

Overreaction or Reality: Overreaction

Both teams account for 6 TD’s in week one vs AFC South opponents but that stat alone doesn’t tell the whole story. In the Miami vs Colts thrashing, Miami had already scored 42 by halftime. Devin Leary had dropped bomb after bomb on a confused Colts secondary while Blake Corum broke free in the running game, while the Colts were still very much trying to compete. However in the Bills vs Titans Match-up, 24 of their points came in the 4th quarter after the game was already out of hand. Josh Allen continued to heave up deep balls long after the Titans had waived the white flag and their running game is still unproven with James Cook only having 10 carries for 44 yards in the blowout.

The Chiefs Defense will score more points than their offense this season.

Overreaction or Reality: Reality

In their week 1 victory vs the Cleveland Browns the Kansas City Chiefs defense was responsible for 24 of the teams 60 points, with 24 coming on the ground and the other 8 coming from special teams. Patrick Mahomes struggled passing, completing only 6 passes on 12 attempts while throwing 2 ints. In the run game all of the Chiefs TD’s came on big plays which most teams in the league won’t be likely to give up. Unless Mali can get the ball rolling on offense, look for the Chiefs Defense to be the scoring leaders this season.

Packers will struggle with the loss of Quay & Arod

Overreaction or reality: Reality

In their week 1 dub against the Chicago Bears . The Green Bay Packers defense looked like it was missing Quay Walker badly as they let a 65 ovr RB break 7 tackles for a solid day, and gave up 35 to this abysmal Bears team. The offense had some of their what would be easy reads with Arod picked bc Hendon Hoocker has different timing bc of a slower release and velo on the ball . I believe it’s gonna be a struggle out here for the Packers and they will have a lot of close games.

Bucs will win the division again

Overreaction or reality: Reality

Week 1 we saw the New Orleans saints jump out early on the Tamp Bay Buccaneers bc of mistakes, but they battled back and ended up winning by 19. The Saints were not efficient at all in the passing game and didn’t lean into their solid run game. And overall the other NFC south members didn’t impress with the Atlanta Falcons barely beating the chargers while Taylor had another career day. However the Panthers losing by only 2 possessions against the giants is a decent sign for them.

Arod

The Steelers will not win a game in the first quarter of the season

Overreaction or Reality: Overreaction

I will address the elephant in the room and one of the most burning questions there are. It is not a secret the Steelers have been playing some of, if not the worst football in PML history.  They’re winless in their last 23 games, and the passing and inability to move the ball in the air has been a huge liability for the team.  Let’s check out the upcoming 5 games inside of the first quarter of the season. Browns, Raiders, Patriots, Chiefs, Commanders.  Of those 5 games, it could be strongly believed that 3 of those games could be marked as ‘winnable’.  The Browns looked dismal in their PML debut, Arod has beaten Nef already this cycle, and Mali is still a big question mark as the sample size with KC is still small.  Look for the Steelers to get into the win column sooner than leter.

Tyree Jackson is the answer in Dallas for a deep playoff run

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

In a league filled with users scrambling for superstar ability quarterbacks, Jefe has taken another path and went with 53 overall Tyree Jackson to lead Americas Team into Super Bowl contention.  It is no secret that coach Jefe is a top user in this league, so why put himself at a major disadvantage versus other users who have solidified the quarterback position for the cycle? Jefe doesn’t want to hear it.  In his mind (and also proven) he plays better with Tyree Jackson under center as they are now 8-2 since he’s taken over the position from Dak Prescott. Do I see Tyree Jackson being in a position to beat the Packers, Commanders, Giants, Rams, and Buccaneers with the season on the line?  That is where I draw the line.  In a playoff game, I would much rather have seen Jefe using Prescott under center over Jackson.  KingMike in Green Bay had a similar situation, but with the game or season on the line, he knew what time it was and summoned Arod off the bench for big moments.  Lets see if this could play out as a reality, but as of right now Jackson leading the Cowboys in a late postseason run is an overreaction.

The new guys can’t hang

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

We saw our 2 newest users, CB and Miles come in and hit a big road bump in their first games, losing with a combined score of 105-35. CB and the Eagles put up a measly 7 points against the Cowboys, and they did that with one of the more talented offenses in the league in my opinion. Miles and the Browns put up 28 on offense, but the Chiefs put up 60 on them, with as mant touchdowns on defense as offense. Judging them off of one game I think is unfair, as new leagues always take an adjustment period. This is especially true when you join in for the 3rd season when everyone has already been building their teams for 2 seasons. I can speak from experience that it might take some time for new users to get their feet under them:)

The AFC is a 3 Horse Race

Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Jaguars, Dolphins, and Ravens all pulled out impressive week 1 wins over playoff teams from last season. The Ravens and Dolphins have the two best rosters in the league and coaches to take advantage of that, which overmatches almost everyone they play. The Jaguars have one of the best offensive and defensive minds in the league to go with their new weapon at QB Justin Fields. I think that these 3 teams are on a crash course to meet in the end of the AFC playoffs and have one of them represent the conference in the Super Bowl. Future matchups between these teams: Jags-Dolphins week 3, Jags-Ravens week 8, Ravens-Dolphins week 18
