Analysis 1-16: Jcclutch
Analysis 17-32: Arod
Jaguars (1-0): HypeMike looked SHARP with new quarterback Justin Fields as the Jaguars took down the very formidable Commanders in week 1. The schedule doesn’t get easier as they take on the Raiders but they are definitely the favorites as they look to remain in control of the AFC.
Rams (1-0): The Super Bowl champs took down the Lions with relative ease in week 1 as they let the rookie DJ take the game instead of Matt Stafford. Their defense also played well for the whole game as next week they get the Patriots in another game that can help the rookie show what he can do.
Packers (1-0): The score was closer than the game actually was as KingMike handled business against their rival Bears to prove they are not giving the division title up. They’ll take on the Seahawks next in an important game that may impact seeding in the NFC later on.
Dolphins (1-0): An insanely impressive week 1 performance from Que and the Dolphins. The defense was very very good and the offense was even better with Devin Leary playing perfect despite regressing in the offseason. They’ll take on the Cardinals next who are very good at competing, Miami will look to stay perfect early.
Giants (1-0): Cook took down JT and the Panthers thanks to a newly revamped and very elite offensive line that let Saquon cook all day. The Giants are proven so now they’ll look to take down the Cowboys and put them back in their place in the middle tier.
Ravens (1-0): Ke looked elite in week 1 taking down the Raiders with a very solid offensive performance and a dominant defensive showing. The Ravens are the best built team in the league and it’s showing. They play the Bengals next as they look to establish division dominance and set their eyes further on the AFC and Super Bowl titles.
Commanders (0-1): Wimmy dealt with a tough week 1 loss as Howell threw 4 interceptions and the defense struggled to stop the opposing offense and the short fields they frequently faced. Now the Commanders will play the Falcons who won in week 1 but didn’t look great apart from Jonathan Taylor.
Cowboys (1-0): Jefe is a man possessed right now as he gave CB the PML newcomer a welcome wagon with a 45-7 thrashing with Tyree Jackson still at the helm and still playing well. Week 2 is a legitimate test against Cook and the Giants to prove if the Cowboys can be for real in the crowded NFC East and contend later on.
Seahawks (1-0): Z narrowly got the week 1 W over the Vikings thanks to a dominant running game and performance from Kenneth Walker. CJ Stroud only had to throw 13 passes and the Seahawks now look ahead to a tough matchup against the Packers. They’ll need to play a more complete game if they want a chance there.
Buccaneers (1-0): Codes played very poorly in the first half but really turned it around fast as the Bucs took down the Saints by 19 by the time the game ended. Tua did his job well as the lefty finally has a shot to lead a team (for now). Next they get the Panthers who always compete so they’ll still need to bring their A game.
Bengals (1-0): The Bengals beat the Broncos by 20 but it was close for a little bit. Cammy is hoping to return to elite status and get the division back and more with new receiver Skinner looking to really make the offense dangerous. They take on the Ravens next and it’ll be a good indicator of if they can contend or just be another year of first round exits.
Bills (1-0): TBruh let Bubba have it as Josh Allen dominated on the way to a 32 point victory. Can they keep up with the Dolphins will be the question until they play. For now, they play the Jets and look to keep the team firing at peak efficiency.
Colts (0-1): Bad, very bad. No excuses for the Colts in week 1 as they got beaten up on against the Dolphins on both offense and defense. Quinn Ewers and the defense need to be a lot better in week 2 against the Chiefs if they want to return to the playoffs and get respect again.
Raiders (0-1): A tough week 1 for Matigy but they held their own for a very solid portion of the game with the worse roster. Jayden Daniels didn’t look terrible but he had a very rookie-like week 1. They’ll have a very tough road test at Jacksonville next but don’t underestimate them if they start 0-2.
Vikings (0-1): CEO played a very solid game in week 1 but lost to the Seahawks and struggled against the run. The NFC and especially NFC North is a gauntlet so every game is important and they’ll have to take down the 49ers if they want to look legit.
Bears (0-1): Jordan Love looked great for Spdot and the Bears but the rest of the team especially the defense as they lost to the Packers. They’ll look to get back on track against Curt and the Lions next game and put himself back in the running for the division and the playoffs in the NFC.
Cardinals (1-0): Dlloyd staying cool, calm, and collective while taking advantage of bad clock management by Antdawgs in week 1 to steal a come from behind victory 47-44. Must limit the turnovers week 2 if they want a shot to steal another one from the powerhouse Miami Dolphins. The rough stretch of schedule for the Cardinals begins now.
Jets (1-0): Trevor Lawence looked sharp in his debut and Fallen claims that he feels a big difference with the newly acquired quarterback. The Patriots made it closer towards the end, but the Jets looked good throughout. Claypool, Mitchell and Wilson found the endzone and the Jets are proving they could spread the ball in a more balanced attack.
Titans (0-1): Malik Willis threw 4 interceptions and the Bills outplayed the Titans in every aspect of the game. Coach Bubba has some work to do if he wants to relive the glory days of the previous cycle. The rebuild cushion has run its course. This is win-now time in Tennessee.
Falcons (1-0): Greeny executed on controlling the flow of the game week 1 versus HD and the Chargers. Taylor led the was with 215 rush yards, and the Falcons defense came up big with 3 turnovers. Big question mark for Atlanta is what does this offense look like when Ridder is forced to pass the ball?
Chiefs (1-0): Mali welcomes himself back with a 60-28 victory over one of our PML newcomers. The defense came up big (or were gifted?) 4 defensive touchdowns. I am hesitant to move the Chiefs up more due to the lackluster offense . Mahomes looked anything but sharp as he finished on 6/12 passing for 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. We will check back after week 2 and a challenging test against a hungry Jcclutch. Nevertheless a solid 1-0 start for the season for Mali.
49ers (0-1): I don’t even know where to put the 49ers. They had a nice lead, only to blow it late and come up on the losing end. It is without question the 49ers looked great for 3 quarters. A lot of questions that need answering in San Francisco. Antdawgs will get back on the horse for a week 2 contest against CEO.
Texans (1-0): Drama enters week 2 with a chance to go 2-0 as he has the Eagles and new coach CB on the schedule. Drama pulled away in the 2nd half for a week 1 victory over his arch-nemesis Arod and the Steelers. After some (and very openly) stat padding, Jameis Winston had 3 scores through the air as he tries to silence the critics who say he cannot win with Winston under center. Texans was +1 on the turnover differential which will be the key to future and any success for the Houston Texans.
Saints (0-1): Newly acquired Joey Bosa had 1.5 sacks, but it wasn’t enough to narrow the divisional gap between themselves and the Buccaneers after a big week 1 test. Of course it’s a long season and the Saints will get back to the drawing board for a very winnable week 2 matchup against the Chargers in the Bosa return game.
Broncos (0-1): Once a very promising team at the start of the cycle, are now 3-8 in their last 11 games. Things are freefalling quickly in Denver as teams are starting to get a sense of the user tendencies. The ground game stalled and Russell Wilson was forced to pass the ball leading to 4 interceptions. They need to get back on track as in week 2 as they take on another coach trying to do the same in Tennessee.
Lions (0-1): A tough week 1 matchup against the defending Super Bowl champions made it difficult to truly assess the off-season moves made by Curt and the Lions. We will give it another look after week 2.
Patriots (0-1): Caleb Williams debut game looked solid as he spread the ball around the field very nicely. Nef did a good job of protecting the development of the 1st round xfactor. Najee Harris disappointed in his debut game going for 12 carries for 44 yards. New England needs to see much more productivity out of him to lighten the load for Caleb. Wasn’t that the plan?
Chargers (0-1): The Chargers haven’t left the bottom 5 of the power rankings all cycle, joining the Panthers and Steelers as the only teams doing so. I don’t know what much more the team needs to win, but this could pretty much be where they stay the rest of the cycle. One thing is clear, they surely missed the presence of Bosa as JTaylor ran wild over them for 215 yards, including a 83 yard blast.
Panthers (0-1): 1st year QB Richardson connected with rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. for a touchdown which could be a preview of things to come in Carolina. Look for JT to loosen the leash a bit on the duo week 2 as they travel to Tampa Bay for a divisional game versus Codes.
Eagles (0-1): Not a good debut from coach CB over in Philly. Not certain this was the division for him as he will have 6 nightmare matchups a year in his division alone. Week 2 matchup against Drama should give us a better gauge at the level of competition the rookie coach will bring to the league.
Steelers (0-1): Steelers drop a game they really couldn’t afford to drop against Dramaman and the Texans week 1. Word on the street is the Brady experiment may be short lived if the 25 million dollar GOAT doesn’t get the Steelers into the win-column. With no cap penalty, the Steelers are in a position to turn to Mac Jones if Brady cannot deliver.
Browns (0-1): Boy did the Browns look bad week 1. Giving up 4 touchdowns to the opposing defense will land you straight to 32nd on the list. There is a transition period to PML competition, rules, and pressure, so we will continue to give the new coaches the benefit of the doubt. Easy chance to move out the cellar as they take on the Steelers who haven’t won a game in like 22 games now.
