What’s up fellas. Here are the 5 leading MVP candidates for PML in Season 3 in my eyes so far through 2 weeks. This is NOT in order, it is just 5 candidates in the running in my opinion.
#1 Joe Burrow (Bengals)
131.7 QBR
71.8 Completion Percentage
815 Passing Yards
9 Passing Touchdowns
Cammy doing what he has done all cycle, which is dominate through the air. When the teams were first announced, I predicted Cammy would be a powerhouse. Mixing someone who loves to throw the ball with a Quarterback with velocity abilities AND great receivers is the recipe for a dominant passing offense. Every season Joe Burrow is usually in the running for MVP and his domination continues through 2 weeks.
#2 Justin Fields (Jaguars)
158.3 QBR
85% Completion Percentage
406 Passing Yards
5 Passing Touchdowns
0 Interceptions
76 Rushing Yards
1 Rushing Touchdown
The latest addition to this high-powered offense has been Justin Fields. This Offensive Coordinator has gone through about three different Quarterbacks, but he finally found the one he liked. I feel like they are really unleashing their playbook because after years they have finally found a young Quarterback they can develop. We’ve seen the Jaguars dominate through the air last season with DJ Moore, but now we are seeing their run game really flourish. PML is seeing the Jaguars actually drive down the field and dominate the time of possession in their games. This is all due to the addition of Justin Fields. He is the most efficient Quarterback in PML as of now.
#3 Quentin Skinner (Bengals)
15 Receptions
259 Receiving Yards
4 Receiving Touchdowns
70 Yards after Contact
It looks like Cammy is developing another WR to make this offense even more unstoppable. Rookie Quentin Skinner is top 5 in receiving yards and touchdowns right now…with Jamar Chase on the same roster. The AFC North should be very fearful right now because if this rookie develops this team may become borderline unstoppable. The rook has great physical attributes and just needs to work on some technical skills. As of now, the kid is the best WR in PML.
#4 Myles Garrett (Browns)
4 Tackles
5.5 Sacks
1 Forced Fumble
Myles is the best ranked defensive lineman in PML as of now, coming in at a 99 overall. These stats he has right now are some stats that linemen generate in one whole season. This guy has 5 sacks in 2 games, which is pretty good. He is on pace to have over 20 sacks by the end of the season. It will be interesting to see if he can keep this up and get into the MVP talks after the season. It is a QB driven award, but the league leader in sacks should always have some consideration.
#5 Travis Etienne Jr. (Jaguars)
272 Rushing Yards
6.6 Yards per Carry
4 Rushing Touchdowns
106 Yards after Contact
So much for Jacksonville just being a deep passing team. Etienne is possibly the best player on this offense right now. They are playing a completely different style of football leaning on Fields and Travis to dominate the ground game. In 2 weeks, they have dominated the time of possession and Etienne has had more rushing attempts than Fields had passing attempts. This team is truly adopting the old school offensive mentality by keeping the ball safe and marching down the field. He may be very far from the best rated running back in PML, but he sure is playing like it.
