Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Bengals last week?
It's not fun. Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase are really good at football. This new rookie that they got in the offseason lit us up too. We can't continue to start games slow on offense because we will never catch up. Credit to that team over in Cincinnati though. I can't believe that Nick Bosa would ever be traded like that, but we all know how much Ant loves trading away talent. GGs to Cammy.
What kind of player do you see when you look at Anthony Richardson?
I think of Jerome Bettis because ARich has been looking like an absolute BUS. We have to watch for the QB designed runs as well as any type of read option. And those CBs and even some safeties better watch out if they find themselves in a 1 on 1 with him. We can't allow broken tackles and yards after contact in this game. JT will run all over us if we let him.
The offense in general is having a bit of a slow start, but it’s early and there’s still a lot of talent on that side of the ball. So is your thought process that it’ll work itself out and the points will come or do you feel like you need to change something, fix something?
It's really about finding our identity. Usually we are better at running the ball and controlling clock. However, this season has started different for the offense and they've really struggled to put up points. I think part of this issue is just getting into the endzone. We settle for 3 points way too often. While we like to take points when we can get them, having consecutive drives into the redzone to come away with only 6 points is not winning football. Everyone has to step up this week. Offense, Defense, Special Teams. We can't allow any stone to go unturned.
