The Steelers will have (2) top 5 draft picks this upcoming draft
Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Steelers went out this season and made moves to improve the roster, but at the same time, tried not to sacrifice the future of the team. They currently hold the first round pick of the New England Patriots as well as their own first round selection. Lets start with their own pick first. The Steelers are 1-5 and have been playing fairly competitive football compared to last season. However, and this is a big however, the remaining strength of schedule for the Steelers stands at a whooping .690, which ranks as the toughest in the league. Their next 5 opponents have a combined 4 losses altogether – Dal (1), NYG (1), Bal (1), Cin (0), Bal(1). Not much room for optimism in Pittsburgh. Then taking a look at the Patriots 1st round pick which they gave up Najee Harris for, they currently sit at 2-4 and have a remaining schedule of .478. Although this number doesn’t stand out as difficult, the schedule is not an easy one by any means. Don’t be surprised if the Steelers hold two top 5 selections in the upcoming draft.

A lot of people prematurely called NFC West the ‘Premier’ Division in PML
Overreaction or Reality: Reality
To be fair, the division looked great for the first 2 or 3 weeks of the season. The 49ers and Cardinals were playing solid football, and of course the Rams and the Seahawks were right on script. Fast forward to week 7, the 49ers and Cardinals seem to be playing their way out of playoff contention, and the division has become a two team race with the Seahawks currently looking to dethrone the Rams as leaders of the west. Although it is too early to crown the Seahawks the new champs, they are playing at an elite level this season currently sitting at 5-0, with wins over the Giants and Packers already on their resume. They have the ultimate test this week as they host the Rams, that with a win, could really propel the odds of them winning the division to nearly a lock.

It’s time for a reset in Minnesota:
Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Vikings took a tough loss this week against Drama and the Texans, and have now fallen to 1-5 on the season. Ceo has proven that he can win, but this team right now is on the decline. The electric pass rush duo of Zadarius Smith and Danielle Hunter have slowed down, Thielen is aging, Jefferson is hurt, and the DBs aren’t impressive. It might be time for the Vikings to take a step back, trade some key pieces and look forward to the final two seasons. We have seen Jefferson’s name in the trade block before, and I would not be surprised if he was on the move for some assets in terms of draft picks or defense.

Drama is making the playoffs
Overreaction or reality: You tell me
The Texans are off to a 5-1 start and there is a lot of debate on whether or not they can finish the season strong and be one of the 7 playoff teams in the AFC. Drama hasn’t just beat up on cupcakes for his wins. CEO came in to this week in a must win situation and Drama was still able to come out with the win.The schedule does start to toughen up soon though. 2 matchups with Jacksonville, and Tennessee who is better than their record would suggest, 1 with Indy, Green Bay, Chicago, Buffalo, as well as a Chargers team exceeding expectations. If Drama is able to make the playoffs, he will have earned it.

Bills won’t be a playoff team
Overreaction or reality: Reality
This Buffalo Bills team has been a disappointment. Quarter of the way into the 2024 season 2-4 and through the first 2 seasons were sent home without a playoff win. This defense is cooked with the loss of von Miller to retirement. They are bottom in passing & rushing defense. And bottom 12 in PPG allowed. Teams have also been able to protect the ball as they have only forced 7 INTs on the season. The offense is 31st in rushing and bottom 12 in total yards and PPG. 13 INTs in 6 games while being a pass heavy team doesn’t help. With games coming up against MIA, CIN, MIN coming up it’ll be a very tough road to turn the ship around before it’s too late.

Micah Parsons is on pace to win MVP
Overreaction or reality: Reality
Micah is in his prime and he might be the most impactful player in the NFL. 14.5 sacks and 3 TOs forced, Micah is dominating everyone after his slow start in week 1. So far Micah Parsons is on pace for 41 sacks!! He leads a defense that is 1st against the pass. 1st in points allowed, and 2nd in total yards allowed. Meanwhile the offense is 30th in total yards but 5th in PPG. This could potentially be an all time defense built around a freak of nature who is running around everyone in front of him. The offense is doing what they need to do, running the football for 15 rushing TDs. Tyree has been a decent game manager. And they have been playing field position well while also taking their field goals. They will most likely be 7-1 heading into their bye and have a huge game against the 7-2 or 8-1 giants week 10. With the Giants taking the first game and the cowboys only lose this game might decide the division.

The Bills should move on to season 4
Overreaction or reality: Reality
The Bills had high hopes going into season 3 after some roster moves and a new look roster but that has been far from the truth. After losing Dion Dawkins and Von Miller we knew the trenches would be hurting but not like this. This season so far in every game we’ve lost our front has been dominated on both sides of the ball. It didn’t help that we lost those 2 veterans that anchor the front but we also lost our superstar abilities on Ed Oliver and Greg Rosseau in the offseason. We thought we would be able to get by with the a subpar offense line and defensive line but we’ve learned the hard way. There’s still a chance to turn the season around and best believe i’m going to take it one game at a time but with the way all these teams in the afc are starting off it’s looking highly unlikely. The best case scenario is to lock in on these attribute request and immersion system to have this team ready for season 4 but we’ll see were we at by the bye week.

Codes timeshare is worse than Ques last cycle
Overreaction or reality: Reality
This was a close one but I have to go with the Nfc South being weaker than last years Nfc West. No matter what Codes does with that roster whether good or bad I don’t think he’ll have anybody on his neck for the next 2 seasons, maybe in season 5 but for the immediate future? No.. Burn and greeny are good coaches but it’s like they have some sort of mental block when they play codes. Everytime Codes goes up on Burn he gets away from the game plan trying to match him score for score which isn’t his style of play. For greeny he built a great roster and gives codes the best games out of anybody in the division but overall I think he’s just in his own head. I don’t think any of these coaches make the playoffs at any point this cycle, as bad a Drama and Ant are, they at least had one playoff appearance. It’s d*** near a pick em but I have to give the nod to the south even though I think Greeny is better than drama.
