Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Justin Jefferson?
He's a great player who can win routes easily and we used that to our advantage to grab 3 interceptions when Jefferson was targeted by keeping an extra eye on him. We will look to use that strategy in the future to limit opposing passing offenses.
The trade deadline is this week. Should we expect any major moves for the team?
We were involved in some talks to try and boost our struggling defense, but decided to just let our guys show what they can do.
Did you scout Ben Scott before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?
Yes, he was one of our second round targets before we traded up. He's a great young center that handled Deforest Buckner and Fletcher Cox pretty well.
What are your thoughts about the Vikings just in general as a team?
I understand why the Vikings didn't want to recreate and why they pushed for a 0-0 restart. It's because while the roster, specifically quarterback, isn't great they still are a good team who's been in countless close games this year. That's why we took the force win, we respect them and didn't want to risk a loss.
How would you assess where your team is near the halfway point of the season?
5-3 is where we expected to be, which isn't bad, but you always want to overperform so we still have tons of room for improvement. We like our schedule the rest of the way but there are several tough games against the Packers, Giants, Bengals, and Jaguars. We won't underestimate other opponents as well. We are okay where we're at but we're looking to turn it up in the second half of the season.
