Reality or Overreaction: Bryce Young officially a bust. AFC is all team and no scheme.

The AFC North will have the first ever 17-0 and 0-17 duo

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

I mean we’re beyond the halfway point and both teams are trending towards those marks.  It would be the first time in NFL history we had an undefeated team and winless team in the same year, nevermind in the same division.  Lets break down each case starting with the Bengals going undefeated.  Is it likely?  I mean, Cammy has been proving doubters wrong all cycle with his ability to spread the ball through the air while shutting down opposing offenses.  He barely escaped week 11 against the Steelers as it seemed more than likely on multiple occasions they were destined for their first loss of the season.  After a few minor miracles, they came away with the win to keep their undefeated season alive.  Looking ahead at a few games that could potentially spoil their storybook run; week 14 vs Ind and week 16 vs NYG.  Other than that they have PIT, KC, and PHI all are very favorable matchups for the Bengals.  The big obstacle will be defeating Jc and Cookie to preserve the undefeated season.  A daunting task if you ask me, but definitely not out of the possibility.  On the other side we have the Browns potentially going winless this season.  Sitting at 0-11 right now and based on what we have seen thus far, the only winnable games would be week 15 vs PIT and week 17 vs NO.  Other than that their entire remaining schedule consists of over .500 playoff contenders.  We have a very realistic chance to see history happen in the AFC North this season, but as realistic as it may seem, I still think at the end it comes down to being an overreaction as a lot has to fall into place.

The Lions are a season 4 playoff team

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

Hold the breaks for just a second.  LQ is back, he is one of the hottest teams in the league right now and the hype train is just getting started.  He was ready for this moment and is taking the opportunity and running with it.  Glad to see it, welcome back.  He is 3-0 upon his return, Dak is playing lights out and optimism has returned to the Motor City.  The only thing that remains to be seen is his level of competition within the division.  The NFC North is a heavy and deep division as he will be competing with KingMike, Spot, and CEO for playoff positioning.  While I would never say he cannot do it, I do think the road will be a little tougher on a full season sprinkling in 6 of those divisional games.  You also have to remember, he is jumping in mid-cycle and this team, as solid as it seems on paper, may not be tailored to his personal style and scheme in every part of the roster.  All in all, I am very excited to see this division play out for a full season as we have come to the point that it could potentially be anyones for the taking come season 4.

Bryce young is a bust

Reality or overreaction: Reality

In a highly touted draft class Bryce young went above shroud and will Anderson jr. So far halfway through his sophomore season Bryce Young has 13 TDs 35 INTs and a 55 QBR. Shroud is an SS and leading a Seahawks team that looks like a playoff team and Will Anderson is one of the best young players in football. This pick was a tuff miss and has made other teams question whether they won the Texans trade or not. This offense is basically  the worst in the league being #32 in PPG scored & #31 in total yards and last year Bryce’s rookie szn 29th in points and 30th in yards. Overall this #2 pick QB has led his team to being a bottom 3 offense and rumors around Bryce being on the trade block have emerged. Hopefully they can find some way to help the defense next szn.

New coach of the Philadelphia Eagles is in a great situation

Overreaction or reality:Reality

I feel like this situation for cb is what’s best for him tbh. You got a fun team in the eagles who can compete, 3 good teams and users in the division will help cb set his standard of football pretty high if/ or when he ever gets in a division that’s not as highly competitive. And he won’t really be expected to do much this cycle at all, it’s kinda the chiefs picking Mahomes. He gets to play cook, jefe, and wimmy 6 times a year and soak it all in. Overall he has been solid in his first year, bc he can run the rock but basically everywhere else needs some work. I hope he learns to have some dignity for his cheeks and not get slapped by 50 bc his szn would be looking a little better if not. But I believe in cb overall.

The AFC contenders are more team than scheme

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

This is gonna strike some nerves, but let’s look at the facts. A lot of these top AFC teams are relying on abilities and top players. There is nothing wrong with that because it proves how well the GM’s are there. If anything, this statement proves the AFC got better GM’s than the NFC. Let’s break it down. More than half of the AFC playoff seeds from the last 2 seasons have been XF Quarterbacks from LAUNCH. We have Josh Allen, Justin Herbert (HD playing good this season), Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson all being competitive at least one of the last 3 seasons. The Dolphins have 3 99 speed players on their offense all with abilities. The Jaguars now have two ability players that they consistently rely on in their offense in DJ Moore and Antonio Gibson. The Colts have a defensive line who all have abilities. The AFC is clearly the more team reliant conference in my eyes and that is just a testament to the team building. Also, most of these guys have 85+ overall squads. Yes, some guys have broken players but at least they’re doing what they should with them. The NFC winning the last two Super Bowls is another thing proving my point too.

Wimmy has fell short of expectations

Reality or Overreaction: Reality BUT ALSO an Overreaction

When Wimmy came into the league he caused havoc. He went straight into everyone’s top 5 and top 10 lists user skill wise. However, Wimmy has no Super Bowl appearances and has not made it past the conference championship. He is sort of going through his Eagles Andy Reid phase. In my belief, Wimmy is still a very competitive user who will make at least one Super Bowl appearance this cycle. A lot of people are afraid to put pressure on Wimmy because we all love him, but it is time to light that fire under him. I feel like he is not overrated…well I KNOW he is not. It is time for him to prove us wrong with that stout roster in Washington. He might just need a QB. If you look at the facts, he has fallen short a bit but he passes the eye test in my opinion. Similar to how guys look at me, Z, and a few others as top guys but we got no hardware. Wimmy has to make it to the big dance first.

Jaguars Are The Top Dog in The AFC: Reality
This distinction has bounced back and forth this season between the Dolphins, Ravens, Bengals, and Jaguars. After these teams recent performances I would say that Jacksonville is the AFC favorite right now and will probably stay that way the rest of the season. They can win in any way possible, running the ball with Etienne, Justin Fields, and Antonio Gibson. They can pass it to Kirk, Gibson, and DJ Moore. They can win with their defense as well. You have to play a complete game to beat them.

The NFC South is Better than the AFC West: Reality
I would say these are probably the bottom two divisions, with the AFC north somewhat in the mix as well, but they send two teams to the playoffs. Codes layed the smack down on Matigy this week, the two top teams in their division. The rest of the division matchups are kinda messy, but codes has something that Matigy won’t get, a Super Bowl ring. The NFC South has atleast one real super bowl contender, something the West can’t say.
