Chat GPT Predicts AFC South Week 18 Matchups

I simulated the ultra important AFC South divisional matchups using Chat GPT. This is a fun way to see what AI thinks about these games by giving them the information it deems necessary to simulate a game of football. I’m perfecting the prompt and responses I give it to roll this out for the playoffs and make this a cool series.

Colts @ Titans

First Half:

The game started with the Colts on offense, but the Titans’ aggressive defense came out firing, sacking Quinn Ewers twice and forcing a quick punt. The Titans then took the ball and drove down the field, relying heavily on Malik Willis’ mobility and Ty Chandler’s outside runs. They capped off the drive with a deep pass to Quez Watkins for a 35-yard touchdown.

The Colts’ offense responded with a touchdown of their own, with Ewers finding Michael Pittman in the endzone for a 12-yard score. However, the Titans continued to put pressure on Ewers and the Colts’ offensive line, forcing a fumble on the next drive and recovering it at midfield.

The Titans’ offense capitalized on the turnover with another touchdown, this time a 10-yard pass to Jaxson Smith-Njigba. The Colts’ offense struggled to get going, with Ewers being sacked multiple times and their running game being shut down by the Titans’ front seven.

Second Half:

In the second half, the Colts’ defense stepped up, intercepting Malik Willis twice and holding the Titans’ offense to only 3 points in the half. However, the Colts’ offense couldn’t find a rhythm, with Ewers struggling to connect with his receivers and the running game still being shut down.

With the Titans leading 24-7 going into the fourth quarter, the Colts mounted a comeback attempt, with Ewers connecting with Zach Charbonnet on a 15-yard touchdown pass and then rushing for a touchdown himself to bring the score to 24-21 with 5 minutes left in the game.

The Titans’ offense tried to run down the clock with outside runs and short passes, but the Colts’ defense held strong, forcing a punt with 2 minutes left in the game. Ewers and the Colts’ offense took over at their own 20-yard line, with Ewers completing a few quick passes to move the ball downfield.

With 20 seconds left in the game, Ewers found Pittman deep down the sideline for a 40-yard gain, setting up a game-tying field goal attempt. However, the Titans’ defense came up with a huge play, sacking Ewers and forcing a fumble, which they recovered to seal the win.

Overview:

The final score of the game was 24-21 in favor of the Titans. The player of the game was Titans’ quarterback Malik Willis, who finished with 240 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception, while also rushing for 60 yards on 8 carries.

Texans @ Jaguars

First Quarter:

The Jaguars start the game with a strong drive, featuring several quick passes to Antonio Gibson and DJ Moore. However, the Texans defense holds strong in the red zone and forces the Jaguars to settle for a field goal. On their first drive, the Texans move the ball effectively with a mix of runs from Alvin Kamara and quick passes to Odell Beckham Jr. However, the drive stalls in the red zone and the Texans are also forced to kick a field goal, tying the game 3-3.

Second Quarter:

The second quarter begins with the Jaguars continuing to move the ball effectively through the air, with Fields finding Christian Kirk and Evan Engram for several key first downs. However, the Texans defense again stands tall in the red zone, and the Jaguars are forced to kick another field goal. On their next drive, the Texans finally break through with a touchdown pass from Jameis Winston to Gerald Everett, giving them a 10-6 lead. The Jaguars try to mount a comeback before halftime, but the Texans defense holds firm and the half ends with the Texans up by 4.

Third Quarter:

The Jaguars come out of halftime looking to regain the momentum, but the Texans defense continues to shut down their passing attack. The Texans, meanwhile, continue to rely on their ground game, with both Alvin Kamara and Dameon Pierce breaking off several big runs. However, the Jaguars defense stiffens in the red zone, and the Texans are forced to settle for another field goal, extending their lead to 13-6.

Fourth Quarter:

With time running out, the Jaguars offense finally starts to click. Fields connects with DJ Moore for a long touchdown pass, tying the game at 13-13. The Texans respond with a long drive of their own, but the Jaguars defense comes up with a big interception in the end zone, preventing the Texans from taking the lead. With just over two minutes left, Fields and the Jaguars offense take the field, looking to drive for the game-winning score. On third down, Fields finds Antonio Gibson over the middle, and Gibson breaks free for a long touchdown, giving the Jaguars a 20-13 lead with just over a minute remaining. The Texans try to mount a comeback, but their final drive stalls in their own territory, and the Jaguars hold on for the victory.

Player of the Game:

The player of the game is Antonio Gibson, who finished with 8 catches for 122 yards and the game-winning touchdown.

Final Score:

Texans: 13

Jaguars: 20

Overall, it was a hard-fought game between two evenly matched teams, with the Jaguars coming out on top thanks to some clutch plays on both offense and defense.\
