I had Chat GPT act as an NFL MVP Voter and gave it all necessary information for it to rank and vote for who AI thinks is most deserving.
The Results
As an experienced NFL media consumer, I would rank the MVP candidates in the following order:
- Joe Burrow
- Justin Herbert
- Keaton Mitchell
Here’s why:
1. Joe Burrow – Burrow has had an outstanding season, leading the Bengals to a 14-2 record and the best record in the AFC Conferences and the second best record in the league. He has thrown for over 5,000 yards and 47 touchdowns while only throwing 26 interceptions. His quarterback rating of 116.6 is excellent, and he has shown excellent leadership in leading his team to victory in critical situations. While he doesn’t have any significant rushing stats, his performance as a quarterback and his impact on the Bengals’ success make him the top MVP candidate.
2. Justin Herbert – Herbert has had a phenomenal season, throwing for over 5,800 yards and 44 touchdowns. He has also shown some mobility, rushing for over 200 yards and nine touchdowns. However, his 28 interceptions and three fumbles are concerning, and his team’s record of 9-7 is not as impressive as Burrow’s 14-2 record. While Herbert has been excellent this season, his turnovers and team’s record put him slightly behind Burrow in the MVP race.
3. Keaton Mitchell – While Mitchell has had a fantastic season, rushing for over 1,500 yards and 24 touchdowns and catching 79 passes for nearly 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns, his team’s record of 8-8 is not good enough to put him in the MVP race. Additionally, as a running back, he does not have the same level of impact on the game as quarterbacks like Burrow and Herbert. While Mitchell has had a great season, he is not on the same level as the two quarterbacks.
My Thoughts
All 3 of these players still have one game left and all 3 have had truly amazing seasons and deserve this award. I agree with Chat GPT that Burrow deserves it because of how much better the Bengals’ record is than the Chargers and Jets, but I don’t agree with everything AI had to say. Mitchell HAS had the same level of impact as quarterbacks in PML but obviously AI is unable to watch all of PML and see that. On the other hand, MVP is really a quarterback award so Chat GPT did what I asked as a realistic MVP voter which madden doesn’t do. Also, I like that its specified that Herbert is just slightly behind Burrow as he does have the better stats and it really came down to the record and the small number of more turnovers.
