Reality or Overreaction: Bucs and Rams won’t repeat. Jaguars aren’t exactly a sure thing.

Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

The Jaguars look vulnerable just in time for the playoffs

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Just when you thought HypeMike was steamrolling through the AFC, he suddenly drops a few games, and by a wide margin, and is openly calling himself out (as he usually does when he loses).  Now, the PML Super Bowl title has eluded HypeMike for his entire PML career.  This certainly looked like the year, or even cycle for the most part, that he would finally achieve PML glory and etch his name into the history books.  The man has consistently won 12+ games every season for how long now? About 3 cycles?  So now it is playoff time, and the big question starts to appear as usual- will this be the year we see young Mike finally win it all?  For 85% of the season, he looked like the AFC favorite.  Those odds dont look as strong at the current moment.  Week 16, the Jaguars went down to the Colts 42-11 in a game where the Colts figured out a way to force 4 Justin Field turnovers.  The following week, Bubba and the Titans put up 63 points on the Jaguars and forced Fields into 6 interceptions.  So what is going on here?  Have teams figured out the Jaguars both offensively and defensively?  Or has Hype used the final few weeks of the season to ‘test out’ a few plays or ‘hide’ certain elements of his gameplay?  Mike is a competitor and he surely has pride, so I don’t see him in any way, shape, or form laying down back to back weeks in blow out losses.  The Jaguars have holes and teams are finding ways to exploit them- just in time for the playoffs.  So yes, they still stand as favorites in the AFC in my book, they just don’t seem like the sure thing they looked like a few weeks ago.

New user/custom playbooks rule is outdated and needs to go

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

We want new users to hit the ground running, right?  The transition period into PML is already a grueling one as they need to learn the ins and outs of our very immersive league.  With the ever expanding rulebook we have, the immersion system, the unique features PML offers, and even just the concept of content, I think users need one less thing to worry about.  If we are filtering users the correct way, monitoring their tryout game (maybe give multiple tryout games), interviewing them (and their reference when applicable), learning about their scheme beforehand, and maybe even reviewing their custom playbook, perhaps we wouldn’t have a need to start a new user against the 8-ball.  They are playing against veteran PML users who are 3 seasons into learning their team, who have spent an entire cycle using their custom playbook, I just don’t think its necessary anymore.  We aren’t exactly picking guys up off the streets anymore where they come in blind and we know nothing about them.  I bring this up because we’ve already had a user leave after 2 games in Cleveland, and the newest coach who clearly isn’t able to compete to his best ability using a stock playbook.  I’d like to see them come in with a bit more confidence, which will most likely lead to a higher chance of league buy-in, more league involvement, and perhaps less turnover within the first few weeks when it comes to new users.  Just my 2 cents.

The Afc runs through Jacksonville: Reality

The Jaguars represented the Afc last year in the Super Bowl so it’s certain that he’ll get everybody’s best game but I honestly think Mike isn’t sweating anybody. First off he made that run without a quality Qb and now that he’s added a true dual threat Qb s***  might get scarier. This entire season he’s been coasting in my opinion just vibing and trying things to master for the playoffs. Don’t get me wrong there’s some good teams in the afc but I just don’t think any of them can put together a full 40 min game. Do I think they can play a good game, maybe even a very good game but at the end of the day you gotta play mistake free against mike and whether it’s the user or the bad Qb ppl like Devin Leary, Aiden O’Connell, Jameis Winston or Derek Carr are good for one inaccurate pass that can change the game completely. Palms get sweaty and the games go by faster so every possession matters especially Vs somebody like Mike. Basically I’m saying mike will be representing the Afc once again until anybody proves me wrong but I hope it’s a fun playoffs.

Neither of the Super Bowl winners will make it to the bowl: Reality

This is no slight to either coaches as they both got the job done but I just feel like it’s a few other coaches time to shine. Part of it is the Bucs have just been solid this year not as dominant as the past so I feel this is the most vulnerable they’ve ever been. With Dk he’s honestly been very impressive, replacing Matt Stafford and not falling off a bit. I think he won’t make it because Dj is a young Qb that will hit you with a bad ball at the wrong time. The biggest reason he isn’t making it is slant boy being out for 4 weeks, he’s a big body receiver  with a big catch radius, strong hands and good intermediate route running along with the way he frees up Cooper Kupp from defenses completely game-planing around stopping him. Dk’s audibles and 4 additional routes with Mike T are a big part of his scheme so that’ll be another reason he might struggle. I could go on and on but we will see very quickly how vital he is to the success of the Rams. Lastly I just think it’s some other coaches time, the Giants had a dominating 16-1 szn along with the Seahawks going 14-3 and although he has Z’s number it’s hard to beat the same person 3 times in a row, you could even throw in the Commanders who have a sour taste in their mouth after getting smashed by him a season ago. There’s so many different factors that go into why it’ll be somebody else representing the Nfc but like I said talking about Hypemike I hope they both prove me wrong.

The AFC is wide open this year: Reality

The Bengals once again have clinched the 1 seed in the AFC. This is their second time with this seeding I believe. They are just flat out dominating in the regular season. However, there are many great teams in the AFC this season. The defending AFC champion Jaguars looked horrible the last 3-5 weeks. The Ravens are always a problem with or without Lamar Jackson. Ke has built up that team really well to where they can still be a threat without their best player. The Dolphins are another well built threat in the AFC. 2 of the 3 90 overall squads are in the AFC. Shout out to these guys for creating tons of content and building up those teams. The Colts and Raiders can easily make some noise as well. The AFC South sent 3 teams this year with the Texans being the latest addition. The AFC is only getting more and more competitive.

The whole benching XF QBs near 35 INTs controversy is necessary: Overreaction

I see what guys are saying, but this is an overreaction. Technically, it is sim to sit star players who are having a bad season WHILE they are not in playoff contention. Look at Justin Fields in real life. The Bears were way out of playoff contention and had Fields sit out the last few games. He was injured but I’m sure they told him to not even risk playing through it. Creating another rule around this whole INTs thing will make the league so much more political than it has to be. Yea, there are some QBs that deserve upgrades opposed to others going to waste but this is probably just another unnecessary addition to the rulebook. I do understand from their perspective though that this is a video game and there’s no way a player is gonna get a whole year long injury late in the season…or is it?
