Transcript: Seahawks Head Coach Press Conference

How has Chandler Jones’s experience in the league helped the team so far?

We expect Chandler Jones to have a large impact this year, especially on passing downs. We brought him in on a relatively cheap deal, to not only mentor our incumbent All-Rookie team ROLB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., but to work with our young pass rushers as well and help them take the next step. We are excited for the future and disappointed we did not complete our mission of winning a super bowl this previous season. The taste of success only makes us more hungry for our head coach's much elusive first PML Super Bowl.

How do you see the competition level in the NFC West currently?

The NFC West is a lot more competitive than it is given credit for. On any given advance, we can see the 49ers or Cardinals knock a team off or play a team very closely. Obviously, you have our squad and the Los Angeles Rams at the top the last few seasons and I don't believe that will be changing. The Rams play a great brand of football that seems to be non-QB dependent. He's balled with Stafford and DJ and has shown no signs of slowing down. Definitely looking forward to the rematches this year.

Some would say your roster is one of the better teams in the league. Would you agree with that? Do you see any weaknesses in your team as you self-scout?

We have worked tirelessly to elevate ourselves from the rebuilding team season 1, to the team everyone around the league sees now. The best part of it all? There's still work to be done. We aim to continue to get better and upgrade at the necessary positions in order to take us over the top.
