Reality or Overreaction: Jaguars on the decline? Declare Mason Garcia OROY

Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

Mason Garica will be the PML Offensive Rookie of the Year

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

There is no other way around this, Mason Garcia is automatically into the conversation for two reasons.  First of all, this was a heavy defensive draft.  Secondly, Mason Garcia landed in the right hands going to Jefe and the Cowboys in the 1st round.  Jefe has been gleaming after acquiring a rookie QB who possesses 97 throw power and 88 speed.  I totally anticipate Jefe unleashing his new toy and moving off of the ultra-conservative scheme he ran last season with Tyree Jackson under center.  This will be one of the more fun rookies to watch this season as he’s handed the keys to not only a starting position, but a playoff contending team.  I laughed at Jefe and advised against this pick, but I am now a believer that Mason Garcia is one of the favorites to win the OROY.

Chargers and Jets will be first time playoff teams in the AFC

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

I wouldn’t even call it a hot take at this point, but I will take these two teams to win their respective divisions.  Starting with the Jets- I have always thought they were one piece away from contending- and boy did they ever fill that void. They made shockwaves through PML in what many thought was an April fools joke when they acquired Patrick Mahomes.  In a division where nobody wants to step up and take over, I call NYJ as division champs when the smoke clears.  In a similar situation, the Chargers play in another tight race division where no team really stands out as the front-runner.  I think this is the team amongst the 4 that is on the rise and will give Justin Herbert the nod over the rest of their division.  Both teams missed the playoffs on the final week of season 3, but look for them to play a bit more consistently to secure their first playoff berths of the cycle.

The Giants will win the NFC again

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

The Giants have been built into a powerhouse, and probably the highest overall team in PML. The fact that they won the NFC with Daniel Jones speaks volumes. The team added Derwin James and a couple other pieces so they can maintain dominance in the NFC. Who else is stopping this team? They seem to have no weak spots nearly anywhere on their roster. This is truly the scariest team in PML and I see them set to have a hold over the league for the next few seasons.

The value of draft picks has gone down: Reality

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

We are now in Season 4 of PML. Meaning teams are getting better and draft classes are meaning less and less. This is where rookies become developed in their third or second year. The Season 5 draft class will have little to no value unless you have a pick within the top 10. Who knows though, some of the next class could have some players in the high 80s, but we know that does not usually happen. Investing into rookies in Season 5 is not the brightest decision in the world for some users. I think we will see more draft picks on the trade block than ever since guys see the value diminishing in them.

This RB Draft class is going to go crazy

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

I do think this was a very good class with a volume of solid to freakish athlete RBs but I’m not sure how many will win out that RB1 job. 3 of the top 6 guys in the class have mid 70s carry so there are concerns of them being able to hold onto the ball while getting a large load of the carrys. And 4 of the top 7 have elite RB1s in front of them on the roster, although the panthers will most likely start the #6 pick in the draft but he still has cmc and a big bruiser along with AR in the run game so I don’t think he will have a huge workload. A.J. Green will most likely be the highest stat getter out of this bunch.

A lot of the teams that were at the bottom last szn will be this at the bottom this szn

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

I know it’s early but teams like the Steelers, Cardinals, and the 49ers have continued exactly how they ended last season and I don’t see it getting much better for them. The Kansas City Chiefs & Cleveland Browns should be interesting to see with big changes happening for both franchises, with the Browns getting a new head coach and Mahomes leaving Kansas City.  With the Lions & Eagles there’s definitely doubt on them turning things around to even .500 level.  The Lions added a 98 ovr WR. While the eagles got their speedster so they both completed their WR corps. Lions did only have a -83 point differential for their terrible season last year so maybe things land in their favor this time. The eagles have had a solid preseason but who knows if that’ll happen for a 17 game season.

Draft picks are both overvalued and undervalued

Reality or Overreaction: Reality
I know that I am guilty of this, but I assume others are as well. Midseason and early offseason I don’t want to get rid of any of my picks, but once the draft hits and I haven’t done any scouting I wish I had pulled the trigger on the trades that were available. It is also difficult because as we get further in to the year draft picks lose their value, and they can still land decent pieces. There is not a ton of time left to put AR in to the project type rookies, so maybe first round picks increase in value while mid round picks decrease.

Rams will have the best defense in the league this season
Reality
Jalen Ramsey would lock down whoever he wanted to the past two seasons, but the weak spots on that team was whoever else was playing corner, now they have Tre White and JC Jackson, so there are no weaknesses on the back end. Good luck trying to run on whatever that one front is, so scoring, especially in the red zone, is going to be extremely tough. Tight ends might have to be your primary target against this Rams Defense, but if the TE gets doubled, it might be a long day.

The Bucs residence in a time share division has ended

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Listen I’m not saying the Bucs have no chance of division success anymore but him being able to coast in the playoffs is dead and i have 3 reasons why i say that .He swapped his second best Defensive player for a undeveloped version of the QB he already has . I get why he gambled but when you roll the dice you are risking a c*** out and he that’s what happened . DTR is more elusive and more accurate then Jaccuri. The only thing Brown has over DTR is a higher ceiling but with this it being season four , do we really think we will see that ceiling before the cycle ends ? I don’t think so . The Panthers puppies have grown up into dawgs . Remember those young players the panthers got after season 1 ? Well now they are grown a** men trust me i do AR i know . JT is done with the immersion system and gave us flashes of season 5 JT in season 3 . Panthers are better and the Bucs roster has not been prepared for success  in a long cycle . Couple that with the falcons getting better and better and the saints expected to have an up season to go with their coaches theme of up season then down season, it’s going to get real tough .He is already defeated .Codes is in chat saying it’s all about stats and he doesn’t care about his record . It’s clear he is packing it in. I hope not tho a competing codes is always a better codes and he has to know the chat will say he only had success when he has the best team . He is already on his way to a tough division next cycle he better squeeze all he can out of this one

AFC South is the best division in PML

Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction

Now why i do believe AFC south is one of the best divisions, no way could i call them the best . The AFC south is led by the Jacksonville jaguars. They have been to two Super Bowls you cannot deny them but outside of that they have no playoff wins. The Colts and the and the Texans are good teams but until they actually do damage in the playoffs we need to hold up crowning  the AFC south the the best . The NFC East has a Super Bowl champion a team ( giants ) a team that wins a playoff games every season ( commanders ) and another team although missing the playoffs the first three years nobody wants to play ( cowboys ) . The NFC west and the AFC North both divisions with 2 juggernauts. The AFC south needs to do better as a group and stop depending on one man to pull the weight.

The Afc East will send 3 this year

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

I don’t like speaking positively on my divison but I really feel like this is the year we all show up to the big boy table including Nef and the Patriots even though he’ll miss the cut by a few games. From the Dolphins stacked team to the Jets adding Patty Mahomes and the Bills rebuilding their OL, I feel like we all have upgraded our roster in a big way so i expect big things from all coaches. This cycle the Afc East has definetely been dissapointins so far as im sure everybody in the league expected more than 4 playoff wins and 4 playoff appearances as an entire group. We’ve all gotten better and it’s pretty much now or never. The Texans are a one year wonder, the Bengals will take a step back and I feel like that playoff performance that the Colts had is still sitting in the back of his mind. I wish them the absolute worst but I feel like this is going to be a tight race all the way through.

The Jags won’t make the Afc Title game this year

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Mike is my guy and we know that he can do alot with a little as much as anybody but I think he made a huge mistake waiting until season 4 to deplete his Corner room for a bunch of unproven rookies. There’s a bunch of good wr’s in the afc like, Cheetah/Waddle, Diggs, AT Perry, Jamar Chase etc that’ll be guarded by a bunch of young guys. I don’t really understand making this trade especially when you have Michael Pittman and Johny Wilson in division and we know how Bubba loves that d*** high ball. I feel like everybody has gotten better while he’s gotten way worse so we’ll see how this thing plays out but good luck to him. If mike can pull of another playoff run with this Cb room i’ll tip my hat to him but I just see those young guys coming up small in a big moment. Mike is a guy that doesn’t really put to much into ratings so for him to draft these guys he sees something there and we all know mike is known for operating with scraps. To put names behind it I think it’s the Ravens, Dolphins or Bills that find a way to send him packing earlier than he would like but only time will tell.
