How does the loss this week prepare you for the next game?
Win or lose there is always adjustments to make on a weekly basis. This loss just goes to show that you can implement your game plan and still come up short. We wanted to make it tough to get Josh Jacobs going and force them to pass the ball, and we did that. However, that's not all it takes. We had some crucial turnovers, and we failed to put them away in 3rd & medium and 3rd & long situations.
Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Josh Jacobs?
Josh Jacobs is a dominant runner, and he is hard for any guy to tackle 1 on 1. You can't go out there and be lax with your tackling. He will run you over. Being disiplined and wrapping up those tackles to make it difficult to get to the second level was our focus.
What were some of the contributing factors to the loss this week?
As I touched on briefly, getting them in a lot of 3rd & medium or 3rd & long situations and allowing them to convert them really hurt us. We need to be able to put the punter on the field in those situations. Costly turnovers is another factor. We had the fumble 6 early and threw an interception in a spot that could have been at least 3 points on the board for us.
What are your thoughts about the Raiders just in general as a team?
They have one of the best running back in the league and they know how to lean on their strength. Dominant running and disiplined defense helps them win games. They aren't going to do anything that blows yoir mind in the passing game, but they can use it in spots to extend drives.
