PML’s Top 10 Wildest Suspensions

10 – Uncle Mike Loses His Rookie

User: King Mike

When: Madden 21 Season 3 Week 3

Who: WR Brennan Eagles – 8 Games

Why: llegal Position Change WR to TE

Synopsis: So Uncle Mike drafted Eagles, the rookie receiver out of Texas, during the draft. But he tried pull off a finesse by moving Eagles to TE, only to get dinged because Eagles didn’t hit the weight requirement of 235. So instead of a promising rookie WR or TE, Mike got neither for his Dolphins.

9 – Ability Feigning

User: NFLRT

When: Madden 20 Season 4 Week 1

Who: SS Isaiah Simmons – 8 Games

Why: Illegal re-rolling of ability player

Synopsis: It’s no secret that re-rolling ability players is illegal in PML. Have you ever wondered what could happen if you tried an illegal re-roll? Well way back in Madden 20, Mr Retweet tried to pull one under the rug. Too bad there’s a transaction log that easily ratted him out. A cheeky attempt to get good abilities cost the Cowboys a young stud for half the season.

8 – Run The Ball TBruh!

User: Bandit

When: Madden 23 Season 1 Week 12

Who:  QB Josh Allen, WR Stefon Diggs, HB Devin Singletary – 4 Games

Why: Continuously breaking 10/10 rule

Synopsis: Bandit loves to air that rock out, that’s his style. But in PML, there’s a rule where you have to run at least 10 times a game for sim reasons. And Bandit has been a habitual offender of this rule, and apparently he broke the rule so many times the commish crew got fed up with him.

Losing 3 key players on the Bills offense for 4 games is a huge statement. By the way, Singletary only got suspended cause Bandit got his starting RB James Cook suspended for breaking the 80/20 rule at midseason. Bandit and suspensions go hand-in-hand for Madden 23…

7 –  Cheating vs the CPU?

User: HD

When: Madden 21 Season 5 Week 10

Who: QB Baker Mayfield – 2 Games

Why: No Game Stream vs CPU

 AND

HB Nick Chubb – 2 Games – Multiple Starts vs CPU

Synopsis: This is probably the dumbest suspension on the list, even dumber than #6 we’re about to cover. It’s season 5!! And it’s multiple offenses! The multiple starts vs the CPU + no streaming is beyond sketch. I really don’t know what else to add to this because it’s such a befuddling situation. But the Browns lost 2 key pieces of their offense in the middle of summer.

6 – Not a Game…Not a Game…We Talking Bout Practice!

When: Madden 22 Season 2

Who: Coach Hypemike and Coach Bubba – Banned From Preseason for 2 seasons

Why: Preseason Stat padding

Synopsis: As we all know, in the PML preseason XP sliders are boosted to the max. It’s supposed to simply incentivize users to play preseason games. But in PML, preseason XP is golden. Now there’s a line you can tote between pushing for XP and just spamming players in preseasons.

That line was beyond crossed in a preseason matchup between Bubba’s Bills and Mike’s Lions in season 2. The stats were so outrageous, suspicions raised immediately. And the ruling was in, no preseason XP cheesing for either coach for a few seasons. People still ask Bubba and Mike if they’re allowed to play in the preseason or not to this day after this incident.

5 – Ringing the Goose’s Neck

User: Bubba

When: Madden 20 Season 2 Week 5

Who: QB Josh Allen – 8 Games

Why: Stat Padding and Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Synopsis: After a rough season 1, Bubba had the Bills rolling in season 2. Josh Allen was balling out…maybe a little too hard. In Glendale against Goose’s Cardinals, Bubba did not let off the gas pedal and poured on the Josh Allen stats in the 4th quarter of a blowout. And Bubba suffered a harsh penalty for it. Probably too harsh. But still, this will always stand a legendary and unprecedented penalty in PML lore.

4 – The Drama With HD

User: HD and Dramamine

When: Madden 22 Season 3 Week 11

Who: QB Tua Tagovailoa and SS Jamaal Adams – 2 Games and 15 point content fine

AND WR Jaxson Smith Njigba and HB Nick Chubb – 2 Games and 20 content point fine

Why: Sportsmanship

Synopsis: So a random midseason game got beyond ugly between HD’s Browns and Drama’s Seahawks. You had HD attempting onside kicks like a madman, Drama attempting to the run up the score, and…yea you get the point. When Madden goes from simple beef to childish. And these kids got put in timeout. Both teams not only lost key players, but also got a super rare content points fine for their actions.

3 – Wildcat Jefe

User: Jefe

When: Madden 22 Season 2 Week 13

Who: QB Jordan Love – 1 Game AND Opponent Choice – 1 Game

Why: Playing while suspended AND Sim Score below 9.8

Synopsis: Let’s unpack this loaded gun. First of all, Jefe and his Packers had previously had a sim score below 9.8 the previous week. And in Madden 22, a Sim score of 9.7 or 9.6 meant you opponent could choose one player to suspend on your team. And Jefe’s opponent in week 12 chose to suspend Jordan Love, but Love still participated in the Week 12 game.

So heading into Week 13, the commish crew decided to suspend Jordan Love. Along with that, Jefe was still going to lose a player due to his low sim score. Important note here, Aaron Rodgers was injured for this stretch of the season. So the Packers only had one other active healthy QB on the roster. So Que and his Rams decided to make Jefe’s Packers have to play their Week 13 game without a QB, by suspending Jefe’s 3rd string QB for the matchup.

But that’s not where this story ends. Looking like a dead man walking, Jefe pulled off the legendary upset win by utilizing the wildcat formation with HB Aaron Jones running the offense. Jones even threw a couple of completions on legitimate passes out the Wildcat! Truly a once in a lifetime moment in PML lore.

2 – What You Don’t Know Will Hurt You

User: Bubba

When: Madden 23 Multiple Seasons

Who: HB Bijan Robinson – 4 Games  AND HB Bijan Robinson – 8 Games – AND HB Bijan Robinson – 4 Games  AND HB Ty Chandler – 4 Games

Why: 80/20 Rule, Playing suspended player, 80/20 Rule, and 80/20 Rule

Synopsis: Good lord Bubba. This long story starts off with Bubba getting his rookie Titans RB suspended at the end of Season 2 for breaking the 80/20 rule, a rule he will prove to truly give 0 s**** about. Robinson was supposed to miss the first 4 games of Season 3…but Bubba forgot about his suspension. And Bijan played the first 7 weeks of the season instead.

And Bubba almost got away with it, the commish team didn’t notice! But after an innocent voice chat conversation with some users (I’m sorry Bubba!), the commish team realized what happened and sent Bijan to the shadow realm by giving him a new 8 game sentencing. Somehow, this story is the gift that kept on giving afterwards.

When midseason suspensions were announced at Week 10, it was revealed that Bijan Robinson broke the 80/20 AGAIN for season 4! Tack on another 4 games, meaning Bijan’s suspension goes from week 8 of season 3 all the way to Week 3 of Season 4. Not to mention Robinson was turned into a 40 year old punter for the rest of season 3 so he wouldn’t get any XP.

Oh but wait, there’s more! At the end of season 3, Bubba got ANOTHER RB suspended for the 80/20 rule. The commish team ruled that Bijan’s carries for Season 3 would not count for the Titans’s year end 80/20 totals. So Ty Chandler, who became the bell cow HB for the Titans once Bijan tuned into stone, became the latest Titan to go down to the 80/20 rule. Bubba is truly one of a kind when it comes to rule breaking in PML.

1 –  The Death Penalty?

User: Vet

When: Madden 22 Season 2 Week 17

Who: TE Kyle Pitts and MLB Deion Jones – 10 Games and 50 content point fine

Why: Sportsmanship

Synopsis: With Vet’s Falcons needing every win to try to make a playoff push, tensions rose in a late season matchup with Jac’s Ravens. Vet reached his absolute boiling point as Lamar Jackson ran rampant on his defense, leading to the Ravens running away to a huge lead. Supposedly, the usage (and perhaps abusage) of Lamar’s scrambling abilities caused Vet to straight up rage.

How bad did this game get? Bad enough that Vet continuously called field goal block for most of the second half of the game on defense. As bad as grieving gets in an online sim CFM gets, it was a bizarre moment for PML. Was this going to get Vet kicked from the league, despite his status as a longtime PML member?

JT decided to hand his buddy a death penalty, without kicking Vet from the league. If Vet could avoid being negative in content points by the start of season 3, he was good to stay. He would just be without his best offensive and defensive player for awhile. And oddly enough, Vet made it through the controversy and completed his playoff push by winning the lowly NFC South division.

Along with that, Vet avoided being the in the red and was able to finish out the Madden 22 cycle on his own terms. But it still stands as the biggest punishment someone has gotten in PML to date, and a penalty that will be hard to top. Because if you try to top this penalty, you’re probably getting straight up kicked from the league.
