Overreaction or Reality? Is Pml as wide open as ever? The Texans are who we thought they were..

Arod

The overall competition in PML is as leveled as ever

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

There was a time we had sure shot super bowl contestants with their road paved gold to the big game. We had teams that were as automatic to appear in Super Bowl as the sun rising. That isn’t the story anymore in our 2023 cycle. Let’s put it into perspective. We’ve had a new super bowl champion each season for starters. Looking at the current state of the league, we have ten teams sitting at 3-3. To dig a little deeper, there are 22 teams either at 3-3, or within one game of the 3-3 mark. I am not sure the league as a whole has been this close in recent history. This a good thing, or a bad thing. I guess it depends on who you ask. I could definitely see a new super bowl champion for all 5 seasons this cycle.

Sometimes less is more in the QB department

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Case study 1: Houston Texans. They had a really solid season with Jameis Winston as he went for 31/33 and 4,000+ yards through the air leading the Texans to an 11 win season. They went out this season and went to heII and back to acquire Kyler Murray from the Arizona Cardinals. He has missed time due to a suspension, but to quickly project his final stats through 17 games he would finish with 42/55 as the Texans are on pace for around 6-7 wins this season. Should have stuck with the lesser quarterback in Winston.

Case study 2: Kansas City Chiefs. They traded the best quarterback in Madden, Patrick Mahomes for a a decent return. The Chiefs finished 4-13 last season and infamously benched Patrick Mahomes at 39 interceptions for the final 2-3 games of the season. They since have moved on to Trevor Lawrence who through 6 games already has 3 wins and projects to finish with about 8-9 wins this year. A huge difference from the Pat Mahomes led Chiefs. Case in point, less was best for Mali.

Fun fact. Your very own Arod even won 7 games with 66ovr Kenny Pickett before spending the next 3 seasons trying to upgrade the position all while winning 1 game. Less was certainly best!

HYPEMIKE

The Raiders need to get to the conference championship.

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Matigy has constantly been an amazing regular season performer. Some say its cause his division is weak…others say he is actually a good user. He has been knocked out in the second round 2 straight times to the Jaguars. This is the year Matigy has to attempt to make it over the hump with the AFC looking really wide open for really anyone.

The Texans are frauds

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

The man has accused PML of colluding against him getting Kyler Murray…then when his a** finally gets Kyler Murray he is leading the league in INTs. Main man drama man got smacked in the fast by adversity and absolutely ran from it. We have not seen this man in chat at all.

Myles Garrett will get his 1st DPOY

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

The Browns finally have a competent coach and are 5-1. This has been a bend but don’t break D and is ranked 12th in PPG allowed and added young phenom Travis hunter who has 5 INTs and 2 FR for 4 TDs in his first 6 NFL games which is crazy but besides that it’s myles Garrett who is truly a dominant force and is consistently making plays other ends wouldn’t make. He’s got 8 sacks thru 6 and leads the league, he should only get more dominant as the browns keep gaining momentum, which is a scary thought. It’ll be interesting to see if they can win the division as they are now tied with the ravens

Daniel jones is the very early MVP favorite

Reality or Overreaction: Reality

Coming off a Super Bowl win in a szn where Danny dimes was in a game manager role that he excelled in. But so far 5 games thru the 2025 season we have seen Danny dimes throw for 355ypg and leads the league in passing TDs, along with a consistent role in running the ball. It seems like Daniel is the front runner for MVP so far and the coach also wants it for him. So far only boasting .500 record at 3-3 with a sim loss to dolphins and close Ls to cowboys & bears who both have been playing well. So there’s still a lot of belief in the building for them to get the season right and be a top seed

Nobody wants to win the AFC East

Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Obviously this is a joke, but it seems like every time these teams have a chance at a big win that would distance themselves from the rest of the division they lose. With the Patriots playing the Dolphins this week, the Pats had the chance to move to 4-2 and separate themselves from the Dolphins, instead they self imploded. The Bills and Jets also had chances to pick up big wins, in a week where the division leading Patriots lost, but they fell short as well.

Ravens will win the AFC North
Reality
The new Browns started off 5-0, with many people hopping on the bandwagon to predict them as the AFC North champs this season, but the Ravens were sneakily following behind them, and now have tied the Browns at the top of the division. It wasn’t a dominating win, but they got it done anyway. My bet is that the Ravens PML experience will allow them to win the North, but I still see the Browns being the 5 seed in the AFC as the top wild card team.

The Bills will still win the Afc East

Reality

Through 6 weeks it seems like the Afc is east is still a 4 team race with nobody actually trying to win the division. I feel like I already played my toughest part of my schedule with my last 5 games being division contests I feel really good about my chances. I’m sitting at 3-3 along with nef and que but I see myself pulling away with my stretch of games against the Panthers, Saints and Texans coming up. Getting some key players back after this well needed bye week will have us ready to go down the stretch.

Hypemike will not be able to put together a playoff run

Reality

We all know that Hypemike is the king of producing with players that belong on everybodys practice squad but this year is different. In my opinio what he did is something you do in season 1 or 2 and not when everybody’s team is juiced up. His roster is ok and he’s lacking in some key spots to where it might be too much to overcome. The division is no longer his but with some wild card teams slacking there’s still a shot there but I doubt he makes it happen with the way he’s been talking. If anybody can pull through, it’s mike but overcoming something like this in season 4 is just too much
