Every team hopes to put themselves in a position to not only compete, but hold their spot in the Premier Madden League. What is a teams realistic ceiling in season 1? How good can each team be with their current roster, user, and divisional foes? Or how badly can things fall apart?
Lets dive into the AFC East
Jets: Greeny
Dolphins: Deebo
Bills: Beast
Patriots: Spdot
Jets
Ceiling: 12-5, conference round playoffs
I’m a Jets fan, and obviously Greeny is my boy that I root for, but I am not buying into the Super Bowl hype surrounding the new and improved Jets. I’ve set the ceiling at 12 wins, and quite possibly a playoff victory, but the AFC has some heavy hitters in the AFC West that could prove to be problematic in the playoffs. They should be able to clean up on some NFC East matchups, and finish over .500 within the division, but I don’t see a super bowl run in the cards for Greeny based on the teams and users he will have to go through. -Arod
Floor: 7-10, miss playoffs
Spdot is a beast no matter what team he rolls out and runs roughshod over his division. Beast proves to be a solid user with a top team, and Deebo schemes the h*** out of the Dolphins- leaving Greeny and the Jets near the basement of the division. This is worst case scenario for Greeny, and probably an unlikely scenario. -Arod
Dolphins
Ceiling: 11-6, Make playoffs
After a cycle think we can all come to a consensus on what Deebo is, he’s a solid player, not great but he’s one you can ever sleep on coming into a game or you’ll get waxed. Deebo getting the Dolphins scares me just a little bit when you add how good his stick still is and the speed, he’s going to touch is going to make for a tough out at times especially if learns how to throw. I feel like the Afc East is one of the most balanced divisions and year 1 I’d have to lean his way with sp needing 1 year in my opinion. Beast will give him some trouble but with that roster adding Jalen Ramsey and Achane along with Cam Smith and others I think he shows up just how he did year 1 with the broncos. The Afc East could flip flop every year, but Season 1 belongs to the Dolphins. -Tbandit
Floor: 7-10, miss playoffs
Deebo is a 14-21 ranking type coach in my opinion but he’s one of the more skillful coaches. I think with the way the Dolphins are constructed with pieces in every phase of the team there’s no way he can lose more than 10 games. His division is solid and if Sp comes out hot, Beast shocks us and Greeny plays inspired ball with his hometown team things could go south quickly, because almost every coach in the division is on the same skill level outside of Sp with the worst team. With that being the case, a ton of games will be close, and he didn’t show an ability to finish games last cycle so if that continues a 7-10 season could be on the way. -Tbandit
Bills
Ceiling: 12-5
The Bills come into M24 as PMLs 6th ranked roster, headlined by coverboy and my personal hero Josh Allen. Offensively Diggs is a top WE in the league, Dalton Kincaid was the teams 1st round draft pick, and James Cook is looking to cement himself as a workhorse back for the Bills. Defensively Von Miller, Tre White, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are vets who make this team a win now roster. -Bubba
Floor: 6-11
Under head coach Beast we are getting a huge question mark in a division that will be very competitive throughout the entire cycle. If Beast does not win S1 there this Bills roster will need lots of work to be done on both sides of the ball. -Bubba
Patriots
Ceiling: 12-5
SpDot is no pushover and has made it to the Super Bowl 3 times in his 7 PML seasons. It took him some time to rebuild the Bears, but eventually was able to turn the team around. This Patriots team comes in with a pretty good defense. He will need to lean on them and create a new approach on offense that is not overly centered on speed. Sp is a good coach who has a scheme that easily transfer and fits this team. The Patriots might be able to even push the Jets and Bills for the season 1 division title. -KingMike
Floor: 9-8
I don’t see any reason why SpDot can’t come out swinging in Season 1 with this team. With no clear front runner easily identified, Sp can at his very least pull off a winning record through his first 17 games. The AFC is going to be a dog fight, so a 9-8 record might not be enough to sneak into the playoffs. Look for the Pats to be a solid team from the jump and throughout the cycle.
