Every team hopes to put themselves in a position to not only compete, but hold their spot in the Premier Madden League. What is a teams realistic ceiling in season 1? How good can each team be with their current roster, user, and divisional foes? Or how badly can things fall apart?
Lets dive into the NFC East
Cowboys: Drama
Giants: Burn
Commanders: Vet
Eagles: HD
Cowboys
Ceiling:
13-4
The Cowboys are loaded. Drama gets to play with his favorite team in a weak division coaching wise. The only other team in the NFC East that can compete roster wise is the Eagles who are led by HD. Yes that HD. The one who always gets a good team and ends up still on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Burn is no match for Drama and Vet may not win a game. Look for Drama to establish dominance over this division from the start. We will hear a lot from this front runner and maybe this will be the cycle he can put together a good playoff performance. -KingMike
Floor:
10 – 7
This team is too good in a division that is too bad for Drama to not win double digit games. There is not much analysis that goes into this. If Drama is not able to get to double digit wins in season one he will have to look in the virtual mirror and really ask himself if he is that guy or has his gaming days far behind him. -KingMike
Giants
Ceiling: 11-6
HC Burn lands in NYC with the Giants. This is a roster that has been overhauled with talent under GM Joe Shoen, and really can compete in this division. Saquon Barkley is the centerpiece of the offense, and young talent such as Thib and Simmons on defense give Burn a lot to work with this coming cycle. -Bubba
Floor: 7-10
While the potential for Burn to have a great season is there, his division is one of the most difficult in the league on paper. Both the Eagles and Cowboys are loaded with talent, and it may be too soon for Burn to find success within this division. Burn may struggle early, especially while stuck in QB purgatory with Danny Dimes -Bubba
Commanders
Ceiling: 3-14, miss playoffs
Vet gets a tough break taking over the worst team (Debatable) in the division when he’s the worst coach skill wise. It’s a talented roster but with no Qb in season 1 it could go bad because that schedule has no breaks. His best bet is flipping some of those players for a star QB that someone is willing to move on from but other than that I expect Vet to struggle mightily. -Tbandit
Floor: 0-17, miss playoffs
When I say I’m not trying to be disrespectful I completely mean it, go look at the Commanders schedule and get back to me. I think this is the first time in my life I’ve projected a coach to go winless and if you look at the roster there’s no way you can say otherwise with this coach at the helm. You have a talented backfield and 3 solid wr’s but an average OL and a below average Madden QB so I have no idea what he’s going to do in year 1 and all we can do is pray! -Tbandit
Eagles
Ceiling: 11-6, win division
The Eagles schedule isn’t a cakewalk season 1 and they are matched up with the NFC West and the AFC East. In order to achieve the Ceiling, HD is going to have to pull off some upsets against top tier users in the NFC West, and some stacked rosters over in the AFC East. The Eagles are stacked in their own right, and may be arguably the best CFM team out the gate this cycle with weapons all over the field. It all comes down to HDs ability to scheme around Jalen Hurts and his ability to attack the defense using both his arm and legs. The division could be his for the taking and the only roster capable of matching their firepower will be the Cowboys. -Arod
Floor: 5-12, miss playoffs
As I mentioned above, the schedule is difficult this season for the Eagles. We’ve watched HD struggle season 1 with top tier teams as he won 4 games last cycle with the Chargers. I’m not certain if we ever seen HD with a mobile quarterback aside from the one year Malik Willis experiment season 5 last cycle, so we may have to take into account the learning curve and the growing pains that come along with implementing a new scheme. HD has been labbing with the Eagles all summer, lets see if he could avoid the 5 win floor I’ve set here. I have to say it, if HD drops the ball this cycle with the Eagles, it will further illustrate the fact that he is unable to win with the best of teams. -Arod
