Today we are going to look at this roster in depth position group by group. We will start on the offensive side of the ball.
QB Group- Aaron Rodgers 86 overall superstar. For season 1 Rodgers is without a doubt one of the top 5-7 Qbs you would want (Allen, Hurts, Lamar, Patty, Burrow, Herby). For abilities he has Gunslinger ( no longer a velocity ability ) Roaming Deadeye, and Pass lead elite. PLE is a velocity ability and even though they all seem tuned down this cycle that is still one of the most coveted abilities in the league. If Rodgers were to stay around 2-3 years it would greatly effect how people view this team for the cycle.
Zach Wilson is the backup qb who is still young but a project to build behind Rodgers. He is a 69 overall with 83 speed and 93 throw power. His age, speed, and throw power combo make him a prime target to trade or to build for Rodgers retirement.
RB Group- Dalvin Cook 90 overall XF. Dalvin was a free agent signing and its rare to see one this high of an overall. He’s on the wrong side of the battle with Father Time, but like Rodgers he is one of the better year one options at his position. He has First one free as his XF, and Juke box Energizer and Balance beam for his abilities. Juke box seems to be one of the better abilities this cycle which increases Cooks value to the team. 91 speed is still good yet not great for speed, but he has elite break tackle and juke ratings.
Breece hall is the second year running back who stands at 82 overall with 93 speed. His age and speed combo make him one of the better franchise backs this cycle. With 91 cod and 89 break tackle expect Breece to win differently with each touch he gets. At 22 years old and star dev he is in a prime position to dev up quickly and be a star for all 5 years.
WR Group- Garret Wilson is a star dev year two stud WR. He is 84 overall with 92 speed and 93 accell. He isn’t the biggest or fastest in the league but his combination of size, and athletic abilities is more then enough. Add that in with his 92 catch and 80+ for cit spc and all route runnings and he is a true number 1 wide receiver in pml.
Mecole Hardman is a star dev 96 speed wr who is known more for his speed then his in game play so far. He is 79 overall but boasts 96 speed and accel. He can take the top of his defense at any moment. His sub 80 cit spc and route running leaves a lot to be desired, but that’s where having a true number 1 like Wilson will help him out. Garret can do the dirty work while Mecole can use his speed down field.
Adam Lazard who may be Rodgers favorite target is a big bodied touchdown threat. He is a 78 overall with 89 speed and while neither of those stats jump out at you he is still 27 years old and 6’5. His height is a weapon even if his speed isn’t. To go along with that height he has 88 catch 85 spc 84 cit 90 jump and high 70s for all route running. Expect Rodgers to lean on Lazard early while getting acquainted with his new targets.
TE Group- Tyler Conklin is one of the lower rated staring tight ends in the league. He starts at 78 overall and is pretty average across the board. He has 83 speed but better then average 90 catching. His blocking and route running leave a lot to be desired but he is a serviceable backup who unfortunately has to start year one.
C.J. Uzomah is a 6’5 big bodied tight end. At 76 overall most attributes do not jump off the board at you, but his size along with 83 speed 86 catch 84 spc and 84 jump make him an interesting red zone option.
Zack Kuntz is the most intriguing of the bunch but no more then a project currently. Standing at 6’7 he is a matchup nightmare. Pair that with 85 speed and 92 jumping and you are certainly onto something. The issue is pretty much everything else. 56 awareness 78 catch and all route runnings sub 60 means he is a long ways away from starting.
OLINE Group- This group has a crazy match of older players and youth. From an overall standpoint they have a mixed group. An interesting note for anyone thinking this group is elite, not one offensive lineman has 80 or better pass and run blocking.
Alijah Vera Tucker at 79 overall star dev and just 24 years old. He is the linchpin of this group.
Laken Tomlinson is also 79 overall but 31 years old.
Connor McGovern is 77 overall and 30 years old.
Duane Brown is 76 overall and older then dirt at 38
Mekhi Becton is a Superstar 75 overall who at 24 years old is a great asset even with subpar stats.
Joe Tippman is a second round rookie standing at 71 overall and 22 years old.
