Ceiling and Floor NFC North Edition: Packers and Bears Super Bowl contenders?

Every team hopes to put themselves in a position to not only compete, but hold their spot in the Premier Madden League. What is a teams realistic ceiling in season 1? How good can each team be with their current roster, user, and divisional foes? Or how badly can things fall apart?

Lets dive into the NFC North
Lions: Fallen
Bears: Jefe
Packers: HypeMike
Vikings: Wimmy

Lions:
Ceiling: 9-8, makes playoff as 7th seed
The last person I would give a scat type back and a speedy wr to is Fallen cheesy behind.. The Lions are a nice young roster with a solid Rb,WR and OL, historically they had one of the worst pass defenses in the league but in Madden that can be masked. Fallen is in a division with coaches that are all skillful and smarter than him so if he’s not able to scheme it up and get the best out of his team it’ll be a long cycle as those coaches with team ratings below him are coming. Year 1 is his best bet to win the division as after that he’s going to be fighting for 3rd or 4th place the rest of the way. -Tbandit

Floor: 4-13
Fallen is in a division with coaches that watch tape and adjust frequently, Fallen has played the same way since Madden 21 with no new wrinkles or anything. With Mike who’s going to blitz the h*** outta you and Wimmy who’s going to know all 20 plays you run by the 2nd matchup… it’s not going to get any easier my guy. The Lions have the roster to build but for season 1 purposes he’s going to have to get out to a scorching hot start or he’ll quickly fall behind because he could easily go 0-4 with what’s in front of him.His key to any playoff appearances is winning every possible outside of the division as I can very well see him going 0-6 all 5 seasons. -Tbandit

Bears:
Ceiling: 13-4, Super Bowl appearance
Jefe is scheming ways to make the most out of the least. That should be enough to keep him as a top dog in the conference. We’ve seen him making the most out of low overall quarterbacks like Jackson and Mason this past cycle, so if you think for one second he won’t be competitive with a still raw Justin Fields, you’re not watching enough PML foot all. The roster needs a lot of work, but the scheme may overcome it all as I confidently raise the ceiling to 13 wins and a trip to the Super Bowl for season 1 Bears. -Arod

Floor: 10-7, wildcard
Jefe has difficulty with not only the users in the division, but the roster disadvantage out the gate. I set the floor at 10 wins, and a wildcard appearance, but they scratch and claw throughout the season. They hold the Panthers first round pick as well as their own, so they will try and juggle a rebuild while simultaneously being competitive. I’ve played with Jefe for too long to call anything under 10 wins- unless he bolts to South America for a month -Arod

Packers:
Ceiling: 17 – 0
A dominant defense, a mobile (ish) QB that he has used before, and top 3 stick in the league. HypeMike has entered chat off and on lately and each time he has dropped a little toxic nugget. I can tell you what that means… that means he is loading up looking for W’s. Don’t let him truly want to win it all. He has the talent to do so easily. -KingMike

Floor: 10 – 7
Double digit wins is the floor for this Packers team in season 1. I dont see any way that they are not able to compete at a high level and easily make the playoffs. The true question for HypeMike is when will he get his first championship. -KingMike

Vikings:
Ceiling: 13-4
HC Wimmy has built himself quite the PML resume, and that’s why his ceiling is so high with a roster that most would consider lackluster. While the Vikings do have their crown gem in WR Justin Jefferson, in addition to a couple of offensive weapons like Hock and Addison, outside of the the team is aging and not great. That being said I think Wimmy is a top tier HC, and will find a way to best utilize his players and I would not be surprised to see him got his ceiling S1. -Bubba

Floor: 7-10
The Vikings defense needs a lot of work, and with Kirko at QB, the offensive playbook will be somewhat limited for HC Wimmy. While I don’t predict Wimmy to come out and struggle this much, playing against HypeMike, Fallen and Jefe twice a year, I can see this division being very competitive, and Wimmy just not having the roster to compete at this point. -Bubba
