Every team hopes to put themselves in a position to not only compete, but hold their spot in the Premier Madden League. What is a teams realistic ceiling in season 1? How good can each team be with their current roster, user, and divisional foes? Or how badly can things fall apart?
Lets dive into the NFC West
49ers: CEO
Seahawks: Zstar
Cardinals: Que
Rams: Cook
49ers
Ceiling: 13-4, Super Bowl appearance
So when I’m essentially saying in this column today is that my Super Bowl prediction will be the Chiefs versus the 49ers for season 1. We had a very nice debate on the Breakfast show regarding this division and it will be interesting to see if Ceo can reclaim the glory of prior cycles under the Dallas Cowboys star. To me, this one was one of the beat team assignments this cycle as the 49ers game plan and player personnel is right up CEO alley. While the Rams and Cardinals rebuild their essentially depleted rosters, look for the 49ers to make the best of the early opportunity and play their way to the Super Bowl. No pressure CEO. -Arod
Floor: 8-9, miss playoffs
Lets do a hypothetical 360 here. So all that Super Bowl talk made me look foolish and we are quickly realizing the CEOs best days are behind him. He struggles to keep up with Cook and Zstar, and Brock Purdy ultimately plays out his final days as a 49er starter before they find their QB of the future in the upcoming draft. To make matters worse CMC misses a chunk of time with an injury. This may very well be their fate this season. -Arod
Seahawks
Ceiling: 15-2
Z runs it back with the Seahawks after a very successful cycle. Thing will be a little different but year 1 Geno will run the offense, with new weapons in JSN and Zach Charb. On defense the Hawks welcome back Bobby Wagner, and drafted stud DB Devon Witherspoon to be alongside Tariq Woolen. I think Z knows the ins and out of this team, and with a solid roster he can win the division and make a championship run. -Bubba
Floor: 9-8
If Geno doesn’t work out at QB and Z struggles to run behind a bad OL, I could see a scenario where CEO wins the division and Z sneaks into the wildcard with 9 wins. I think this roster year 1 is still good enough to make playoffs under HC Z. After year 1 I think this team has some holes to address, and I don’t think Geno is the long term answer at QB. -Bubba
Cardinals
Ceiling: 8-9
Que has landed in Arizona and looks to rebuild a struggling team. Led by QB Kyler Murray and WR1 Hollywood Brown, the offense has some speed to build around. On Defense Buddy Baker is the team’s centerpiece. I could see Que willing this team to 8 wins if he can utilize the teams strengths, and gets a couple lucky bounces -Bubba
Floor: 3-14
While I believe Que is a very talented coach, and will have an overall great cycle with the team, there’s no debating this roster is awful. Yo add insult to injury, Que will be starting the season without QB Kyler Murray. This division is already one of the most competitive in the league, and with this roster I don’t expect Que to keep up. Plus everyone knows S1 Que has to secure a blue chipper before he starts actually playing. -Bubba
Rams
Ceiling: 11 – 6
I have no clue with Cook and the Rams. Cook off stick skill along can force this team into some victories… but at the sake of what? Cook is a PML legend with a proven track record of taking literally the worst teams and turning them around. He once too a sub 70 OVR Dolphins team to the playoffs season 1! I dont know if that would be a good thing with these Rams, but you never know. Cook might just decide to give it his all from the jump. -KingMike
Floor: 4 – 13
Cook has 0 to prove. If he wanted to roll out a bunch of scrubs and keep the games close while still protecting his draft picks he could. I dont know if he will, but with Que and the Cardinals for sure no getting over 5 wins, it might be the smart move to out maneuver a division rival… -KingMike
