Transcript: Vikings Head Coach Press Conference

I want to ask you about the receiver position in general. How have you seen that position evolve in importance over the years and how does having a player like WR Justin Jefferson sort of factor into that perspective?

He's spoils you rotten. He's the best player at the position and probably will be for the next 5-10 years. He's a generational talent and watching him break ankles and burn Cornerbacks makes you speechless. His importance to this team has evolved our entire offense. We love when we see him given extra attention that opens up the rest of the offense. Even when he doesn't touch the ball, he's creates an impact.

When the schedules were released this past offseason, analysts said you had one of the easier schedules they've seen. Do you see it that way as well?

To be honest, I haven't looked at our full schedule. I probably won't until about week 10 or 11. From some of the teams I know we play early on, I don't think I see many easy games at all. We're taking it a single week at a time. We just got done with Philly, I'm on to LA.

Who is your quarterback, and why?

Kirk Cousins is our QB1, and it's because he gives us the best chance to win week in and week out. There aren't many options besides Kirk. Jaren Hall has taken a few snaps behind center, but mostly with the intention to run the ball. For now, Kirk is our guy. But we also need to have a long term plan. So after this season, we'll see what happens. But I'm not one for fortune tellers and fairy tales.
