Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

Arod
The Trade Committee is not consistent, nor understanding of any rationale behind a trade
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
I write on behalf of Colts user JCClutch. A dear friend of mine, he was handed the keys to a team that was said to be one of the toughest rebuilds in CFM this cycle. ‘Jc can do it’ exclaimed everyone after teams were announced. ‘JC did an excellent job with the Colts’ shouts another user from a distance. So when it comes to the Marshon Lattimore deal, why is this deal being rejected? He was given control of a team that is in cap h*** for the next few seasons. One of the biggest objectives for any GM taking over the team is to find a way to gain some financial freedom. Now I know JC took this assignment in stride as a testament to his team building skills. It was clear that the Saints needed someone who can handle the situation they were in to start the cycle. I know first hand, the guy took a lot of time before the cycle even started and did multiple simulations and scenarios to find a way to get the Saints out of this mess. He would message me plan after plan after plan of what he was going to do and how he would execute it. He gave me the cap scenario after seasons 1, 2, and 3 based on moving certain players. So when the first order of business is to move a 27 year old CB who is owed 19 fregin million dollars this season, then what is the issue? He has two young, ‘Madden good’ CBs on the depth chart he is looking to develop, he’s obviously put thought behind this, and he wasn’t getting a bad return either. Heck, he even made a storyline via content to build up the potential trade. In all seriousness, I don’t write this because I’m cool with JC, I write it because the trade committee has to do better. If you’re vetoing it on the grounds of the salary penalty (which I doubt they even looked at), then you need to veto the Ramczyk trade because his penalty was just as bad. If you are vetoing it because Lattimore is a superstar player on a team that lacks superstars, then why did we allow the Justin Simmons deal when the Broncos are in a similar situation team wise, and Simmons and Lattimore are not very far off skill wise and age wise. If you want to veto every deal, cool do it, but it needs to be consistent. At this point, the TC are just being straight up aholes who arent exactly doing their due diligence before grading a trade. Make your feedback valuable, allow users to take the next step forward to achieve what both sides are trying to do. Don’t give feedback like ‘I dont like Lattimore being moved”. W** does that even mean? You’re probably same guy in his DMs trying to strike a deal yourself. Consistency, valuable feedback, and understanding why a team may be making a particular deal. Read between the lines, not just the names and picks in front of you.

Vet is the new ‘Cammy’ of Madden 24 cycle
Overreaction or reality: Overreaction
Uff, as much as I want to believe in the underdog story- because it gives me hope for myself- I just need to see more. He had a ‘shocking’ win against Que week 1. We all pretty much pinned it on the roster of the Cardinals, but hey the Commanders aren’t that much better themselves. Moved onto week 2 and Vet had arguably the best win of his PML career taking down top 3 user DK as they entered the game as 15.5 point underdogs. It was Rocky beating Creed, Petruzelli beating Kimbo Slice, or the Colonist taking down the Red Coats. Nobody expected it, and it was a gentle reminder that the PML is an ‘any given Sunday’ league. Is this sustainable? In my opinion that is an overreaction right now. The roster is not ready for a deep playoff run, and we will have a big question mark over Vet. But if you’re reading this, I’m rooting for you. The everyday man coming out of nowhere and becoming a PML top tier user. Lets go Commanders!

The Browns will win the AFC North
Reality
I like what Mali is doing over there in Cleveland. It is surprising but the consistent game plan and ability to run the ball has done the Browns well. I think if they can continue to get division wins and play their other opponents tough, they will be in contention for the division crown. The Bengals look to be their main opposition, but it’s way too early to tell. The Steelers could turn it around and be a force as well. The Ravens have started poorly as their coach focuses in on finding their identity. Meanwhile, the resilience and adaptability of the Browns’ defense have also been commendable. The coaching staff seems to have an effective and cohesive game plan that is being well executed by the players. As the season progresses, keeping the team’s core players healthy and maintaining the momentum will be critical for the Browns’ potential playoff push. Despite the current uncertainties, the anticipation and excitement for the rest of the season is palpable among the fans and the team alike.

The Eagles and the Raiders are the most surprising 0 – 2 teams
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
With the Raiders and the Eagles both being winless in their first two games, we have to wonder what is going on in Vegas and Philly. Vegas came into the season ranked #2 in the unified rankings only to drop out of the top 20. Philly’s team is literally the best on the game, and they have yet to live up to the hype. Could these two coaches be the most disappointing two weeks into the season? I would say yes. This start is a significant shock, and it’s sparking discussions about potential changes in strategies, team lineup, and even questions about leadership for both teams. The subsequent games will be crucial for the Raiders and the Eagles as they need to make a robust comeback to prove their critics wrong and uplift the morale of their dedicated fans. Moreover, the players themselves must be feeling the pressure, and it’s essential for them to stay focused and up their game to turn the tide in their favor.

Chargers will win AFC West
Codes has started hot going 2-0 with Chargers, and the offense has been nothing short of electric. The Chargers have notched a league high 48 ppg thru 2 weeks, and do not look like they will be slowing down. Justin Herbert and No.1 target Keenan Allen have a favorable matchup going into Minnesota who rank 31 against the pass. With KC struggling to move the ball through the air, I think this is the year The chargers could steal the division and make a deep playoff push.

Eagles defense is still Super Bowl Caliber
The Eagles have started the season 0-2, play two mediocre offenses in the Patriots and Vikings. Through those two weeks the Eagles are ranked 30 in ppg, 28 in pass def, 31 in rush def, and dead last in total defense. Many predicted this team to reload on defense with rookie additions of Jalen Carter, and Nakobe Dean. But it looks to be the opposite. There’s no denying this defense has taken a huge step back, and the road ahead is no easier. This team needs a wake up call soon or they may miss out on the playoffs completely.

The Trade Committee should be revealed at the end of every cycle.
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The Trade Committee is arguably the most hated group of men in virtual history. They have had some of the biggest disputes we have ever seen. The most storied rivalry of them all was the Arod vs TC feud. It came to the point where Arod was ready to meet up with any member in the d*** committee to solve their issues. We have seen other members call out the Committee and were really upset about things. JC is d*** near ready to curse out the TC cause they won’t let him clear up cap room. I think it would make season 5 more exciting with a TC reveal at the end of the cycle. Why not? Let’s do it.

The Raiders are finished.
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
KingMike is off to a slow start and many are saying that his cycle may be finished. If there is one thing I know about KingMike it is that he will adapt. He either will make a run at the end of this season or start competing in season 2 or 3 for sure. I think he may try to get his QB for the future and once he does that I think the AFC will be in trouble.

Vet will finish over .500
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
First off, I owe Vet a huge apology, we did a floor and ceiling article where I had his Ceeling at 2-15 and through 2 games he’s already met that. I thought without a competent qb he’d be by far the worst team in pml but he’s came out swinging, beating 2 coaches that are in the top 10 for most coaches so that’s pretty yimpressive if you ask me. Let’s pump the brakes on a positive record though he still has his entire division left and you add on games with the Nfc West and Afc East… It’s gonna be tough sledding for Vet but if he can pull this off in season 1? He might be the new Cammy for this cycle but I highly doubt it.

The Nfc West will send 3
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Coming into season 1 everybody expected it to be a fight between the Seahawaks and the 49ers with the Rams and Cards fighting for the #1 pick in the draft but i’ve been sadly mistaken. Cook has come out the gate looking like he did last cycle with an underwhelming Rams squad but out the gate he’spulled off 2 divisional upsets against heavy hitters that were favored to win his division. At this point after 2 weeks I’m all in on Cook but the only thing stopping them from sending 3 is Ceo having a late season collapse that we all know he’s good for, with that niners team I see him pulling it out though. That 49ers team is built for his playstyle so through season 1 and 2 before the teams catch up there should be no reason why he’s not consistently in the playoffs.
