Transcript: Browns Head Coach Press Conference

Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Ravens last week?

It was a good showing from the defense and we can take a lot from that going forward. However, we struggled greatly on offense l, but I feel that we can also take a lot from that and make the proper adjustments.

How is the team handling the bye week this week?

These early bye weeks can be a gift and a curse. We are going to have a long stretch of games which on one hand can be exhausting, but on the other hand we can really get into a rhythm to close out the season. Coming right after a loss this will be a great time to reset and work on getting momentum and a rhythm going.

What is the status of David Njoku and when is he set to return?

David Njoki is a couple weeks out at this point he is able to be lightly active, but we don't want to chance putting him out there before he is fully healed.

Over your career, what makes a team better at not turning the ball over as the season goes along? What kind of things you need to emphasize? How much of it is coaching? How much of it is a mental part? Physical part?

The emphasis is certainly on coaching and mental preparation. The physical aspect is there and has a small factor, but when it comes down to it an effective scheme, field vision, and adaptability are going to be the most important factors.

How valuable is the self-scouting process that you go through during the Bye Week? There's the physical piece, but also that component, as well.

It's very valuable. Especially in this stage where most of us getting familiar with our teams and still developing a scheme to build around them. I can tell you now that week 6 Browns will look a lot different then week 4 Browns.

Did you scout BYE before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?

No need to. Bye is an absolute walk in the park the only win more guaranteed is if you are facing off against NEF.

When the schedules were released this past offseason, analysts said you had one of the easier schedules they've seen. Do you see it that way as well?

It's any given Sunday in PML. There are really no cake walks or guarantees so I don't put much stalk in those estimations.

Can you speak to the overall team health?

They team has faced some adversity with injuries at some key positions, but that is the game and it's our job to put the next man up in the best possible scenario. We feel good about our starters and our depth players.
