PML Week 6 Pick Ems’

PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and myself where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.

Greeny is still clutching a two-point lead (53-25) to Arod’s (51-27) but this week everyone went 9-5, except Burn who dropped the ball on his picks and went 7-7. KingMike pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the cycle defeating the Green Bay Packers and securing the Raiders their first win of the season. KingMike was heated heading into this game and has put the league on notice, the Raiders are back baby!

Week 6 Matchups –

Greeny

New Orleans 35 – Houston 35:

A TIE ?? Well, we just saw one happen, and the Saints almost had one as well. These coaches know each other well, but the Saints have the current roster advantage. Houston has been playing great defense but with the familiarity between the teams I see this being higher scoring than normal. I just think the coaches are both playing well and can really see it coming down to the wire.

Jacksonville 42 – Indianapolis 17:

Jaguars are hitting a bit of a stride after a slow start. The offensive coordinator has promised to stop dropping back and making life on Trevor tougher than it needs to be. If they can keep that up their offense is one of the hardest to stop in the league. The Colts are coming off a divisional loss to the Titans, and it pours on here. Rookie Anthony Richardson needs some more time in the league before he’s really making his mark.

Miami 45 – Carolina 24:

This is a game that can be a blowout or an upset. Jt and his blitzes may neutralize the Dolphins speed, or he will give up 500 yards. It’s close to me but I lean on the side of the fast guys and their yac ability taking over here. Bryce is still figuring out the NFL and it’s clear he needs some better weapons around him before he can ascend.

Burn –

Kansas City 40 – Denver 21:

After giving up 70 points in one game, the Broncos came out and played good defense versus the Jets, however, their offense couldn’t score more than 14. This is a problem that will haunt the team for the rest of the season. The Chiefs are on a roll after beating the Vikings last week. Mahomes is on a roll, and I don’t see that stopping this week. If Tua and the Dolphins can put up 70 points, Mahomes can put 100. I don’t see that happening, but I do see the Chiefs winning 40-21.

Baltimore 14 – Tennessee 10:

After going 0-3, the Ravens have won two straight close games and are looking good on defense. They have the number one ranked passing defense and number 4 ranked total yardage defense. This is going to be key going forward. Another team who went 0-3, who has now won two in a row is the Titans. They aren’t doing it pretty, given their statistical ranks but they are getting it done. If the Ravens can limit Lamar’s turnovers, I see the Ravens winning a close one 14-10.

Atlanta 24 – Washington 21:

The Commanders were off to a fast start and have cooled off a lot losing three straight. The defense and the short passing game is their bread and butter, and teams have figured that out. Howell throwing deep isn’t the answer, so they need to figure out another game plan and fast. The Falcons lost by 4,7, and 9. If a couple of things went their way, they could be 5-0 at this point. They have the best ranked rushing defense, but their offense isn’t doing enough to close out these games. I see the Falcons stopping the Commanders running and short passing game. I think this will be a close game, but one that the Falcons come out on top 24-21.

AROD –

Detroit 41 – Tampa Bay 31:

This one will be a shootout. Expect over 70 points to be put up on the scoreboard as Tampa Bay is coming off games where Baker Mayfield threw 43 times and 38 times. With the volume of passes look for Detroit to take advantage of some turnovers and pull ahead laten and end the Buccaneers two game win streak.

New England 24 – Las Vegas 17:

An old fashion defensive battle between two top coaches. Something awoken King Mike this past week as he got into the win column against HypeMike and the Packers. It’ll be a close one but look for Mac Jones to outplay Jimmy G and come away with the victory. I’ll be tuned into this one.

New York Jets 45 -Philadelphia 29:

Should be another blow out for the Eagles as they continue the trend of engaging in shootouts without the defensive ability to stop anyone. It’s certainly not the defensive roster, Eagles user just doesn’t know how to play defense plain and simple. They project to finish the season at 3-14 and possibly a top 3 selection in the draft. Wild… Jets roll easy here and continue to show they’re a contender.

Cammy –

Minnesota 35 – Chicago 14:

Wimmy just came off of a loss against the Chiefs and if he wants to have a chance at winning this divisions he’s going to have to beat his division mates and this week he has a big chance of doing that against Chicago. Chicago is still trying to find their identity while Minnesota already kind of knows there. I think this Vikings defense is going to be good enough to carry them to a large margin victory.

Seattle 42 Cincinnati 21:

I don’t think this game is going to be close at all. When it comes down to you having the best qb in Joe Burrow and just aren’t really performing that great it kind of lets you know that you just aren’t the best player yet and I think Seattle is going to take advantage of this team.

San Francisco 28 Cleveland 17:

The Browns have been struggling lately at keeping the ball safe and when you go up against a team like the 49ers you can’t turn the ball over a lot if you want to win. I don’t think Watson has it in him to keep the ball safe this week so I think Ceo and the 49ers are going to pull out with a victory

Fallen –

Los Angeles Rams 28 – Arizona 10:

The battle of the undefeated versus the defeated.. Que is desperately in search of his first win, but I don’t think that he’s going to get it this week. His Cardinals have been able to stay competitive for most of their games but lapses of judgement has been seen late in almost every game. On the other hand, Cookie has Matthew Stafford looking like a young Patrick Mahomes and Cooper Kupp is going to have a field against this Arizona defense that is letting up almost 27 points a game. Phew, maybe next week Que.

Buffalo 28 – New York Giants 14:

Is there a mutiny going on in New York? Daniel Jones was paid handsomely to be the starting quarterback of the Giants, but he hasn’t returned on that investment. In fact, he’s played God awful.. He is tied with Jimmy Garoppolo for the most interceptions (13) thrown in the league so far this season. Buffalo has been having a hot and cold season so far, but they are taking on the Giants at a prime opportunity after coming off a loss to the Jaguars. Over or under Daniel Jones throwing 3 interceptions this week? I’ll take the over, unless Burn is able to mix up his offense by deploying a better passing scheme that doesn’t include a down the field approach.

Los Angeles Chargers 31 – Dallas 28:

Are you really undefeated if you have a tie? The Dallas Cowboys would like to agree, but they’re taking on a true undefeated team in the Chargers this week, probably their toughest matchup of the season. The Chargers are averaging 43 points a game and Dallas has been holding their opponents to 25 points per game, but they are dead last against the pass and they rank 30th in total yards given up, I think Drama has a lot of confidence in his team, but unless he can force Justin Herbert to turn the ball over, the Chargers are going to pass the ball down the field easily. However, I am very curious to see which quarterback will throw more touchdowns, Dak Prescott leads the league with 16 touchdowns versus the 14 touchdowns that Justin Herbert has thrown. Get ready for a high scoring battle between two of the best coaches in PML so far this season.
