Overreactions & Reality Checks for PML

Tanking allegations are wildly a stretch of the imagination
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Ill say it straight out. I don’t believe that we have 1 user here who is purposely trying to lose games for a ‘chance’ at the top pick. See, to me, PML is different, we all want to win. If we get a bad team out the gate, it is our chance to prove we could compete no matter the circumstances. Look at the credit Spdot and Cook have received this season for winning with the Patriots and Rams respectively. Although some are able to pull this off, others unfortunately were not able. You can even throw the Bears into that category this year as they sit at 4-3 as Jefe has the depleted roster playing competitive football. So who are the tank police eyeing? I hear a lot of allegations against the Raiders, Cardinals, and Broncos. Now historically, these are all top tier users who have won super bowls, or typically make the playoffs at the very least. So I think DK, Que and KingMike are throwing games for a draft pick? Not at all. I think if these users could come out and make the playoffs, they would take that over a top pick any day of the week. There are many variables that factor into this, that may place these said teams against even further against the wall including roster, division, schedule, injuries (Kyler Murray), and so forth. Pride is above all, I don’t think any user in this league wants to lose games, nevermind on purpose. Let’s debunk the tanking allegations and let everything fall into play the way they were supposed to. We’re going to say that if the Broncos, Cardinals, and Raiders win less than 6 games this year, and then happen to make a playoff run next year when their roster is built up a bit, we need to investigate or penalize them for allegedly tanking? Lets remember folks, these were ‘rebuild’ teams and any type of winning football season 1 is a bonus.

The NFC North is anyone’s race
Overreaction or reality: Overreaction
Chicago, Minnesota, and Detroit all sit at 4-3, while Green Bay sits half a game above them at 4-2. We all expected this division to be one of, if not, the most competitive division in PML this season- at least this was my pick on the Breakfast Show pre-cycle. Did I anticipate the Bears and Lions being as competitive as they have been season 1? Maybe not. Did I expect the Vikings to keep up with the pack with a non-Madden style quarterback season 1? Again, maybe not. I expected the Packers to run with this division while the other 3 duked it out for wildcard positions. The way it looks right now, all 3 have a strong shot of filling 2 of the 3 wildcard positions- assuming Sea/LAR take the other. So what about the division crown? I think that is still pretty much set in stone for HypeMike and the Green Bay Packers. His user skill, on top of the most complete roster in the division, will make it very difficult for him to drop enough games for the other 3 to keep up. It may look tight now, but I fully expect the Packers to create some separation in the upcoming weeks.

Baker is the most important player in Tampa
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Expectations for Baker when he signed with Tampa were very low, he was a bridge QB at best. Fast forward to week 7 and he looks like a MVP candidate putting up 1,400 yards and a 12-5 TD-INT ratio, he even earned himself a dev game… but that’s where it all went wrong. During his dev game he went down with an injury, and it’s going to last a few weeks. Without Baker, the bucs have looked like an Evolve team. Against the Falcons Carson Strong got the start, he put up 0 TDs and turned the ball over 5 times in a 42-10 loss. With 3 weeks left until his return, will Baker be able to do enough to secure his spot for next year… or has his bad luck cost him his last chance?

Rams are the NFC Favorite
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
Cook is the only undefeated team remaining in PML and his run with the Rams has been impressive, but I see some users are calling him the favorite for the NFC. How can you sleep on hypemike? I know he hasn’t been dominant like he usually is, but it’s still Mike. Just comparing the teams as well, Mike has the advantage. If they met in the playoffs, I think Jaire could limit Kupp while there’s nobody on the Rams who can’t stop Watson. His speed and size makes him close to unguardable, especially with how weak the Rams DBs are. We may even see Cooks best players (Kupp and Donald) get shipped before the deadline. Cook will definitely be a favorite in 1-2 more seasons, but this season I got Mike in the SB.

HYPEMIKE
The NFC North is a warzone.
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Before this season did anyone expect this? I personally did not even think the division would be this competitive. I loaded up to play DK last night and saw my whole division is 4-3, what the h*** is going on? This is insane how well my division is playing right now. People laughed at me when I said I feel like the Vikings could win the division or make a deep playoff run. Right now the NFC North is looking like the best division in PML and it is anyone’s to win at the moment. The Packers have the advantage with division victories at the moment.

The Chargers are still the SB favorites and are setting themselves up for a dominant cycle.
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The Chargers are playing great football right now and are already looking towards the future. They have a 99 speed WR that they will be developing behind Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. Codes has already been a solid GM and player builder, this team is set up to win now. However, it is great he is already looking towards the future as well. The AFC must be on high alert with what is going on in LA.
