The Chicago Bears have arrived as a true Super Bowl contender
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Believe it or not, the stock Madden 24 Bears are making noise in season 1 and are primed to make a deeper playoff run than anyone could have imagined. After dropping their week 1 opener to HypeMike and the Packers, the season outlook seemed a bit bleak for Jefe and the lowly Bears roster as it seemed it would be difficult for them to keep up with better rosters. Week 3-6, Jefe took them on a 3 game winning streak before dropping an overtime heartbreaker to the Raiders. However, this past week, the Bears redeemed themselves in an instant classic thriller in overtime against the Chargers, who are Super Bowl contenders in their own right. The Bears are displaying a high level of discipline and poise on the offensive side of the football as Justin Fields manages a run-heavy attack while relying on the defense to shut down opposing offenses. It isn’t always pretty, but Jefe is doing what it takes to win football games and in my opinion, the Bears are destined for a deeper playoff run this season than anyone could anticipate. After a big win against the Chargers, Jefe’s attention has certainly shifted gears from a rebuilding season to Super Bowl aspirations. With the likes of Cookie, HypeMike, and Drama standing in their way, can they continue to overachieve this season and create an unlikely story to close out season 1? Only time will tell.

The Chargers are a sinking ship
Overreaction or reality: Overreaction
Now switching to the otherside after the heartbreaking loss in overtime, the Chargers for the first time all season have their backs against the wall. With a top 5 roster, and a top tiered coach, the Chargers have some pretty high expectations, some of which may never truly be fulfilled if the Chargers don’t end the season with a Super Bowl ring. Unfair? Possibly, but Codes is one of those users that puts a target on his own back, so the reactions to losses are usually always elevated. They have now lost two in a row, to the Chiefs and Bears, and have openly discussed going back to the drawing board to make some defensive adjustments before their next game. They currently boast a top 10 offense, but also a bottom 10 defense, so Codes knows what needs to be done to right the ship. He is a proven winner with a top rated roster, I don’t think it’s time to hit the panic button yet in Los Angeles. Codes will be alright and I expect the Chargers to be one of the final teams standing in the AFC come playoff time.

Vita Vea makes Chargers SB contenders
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
After much controversy and discussion the never ending trade committee drama finally halts to a stop at trade deadline week. But not before approving a handful of very big trades. One that I think makes the most impact is Vita Vea to the Chargers for a 1st 3rd and 5th. Vita Vea was disappointing to this point on the Bucs, but he finds himself in a change of scenery, in a team with Super Bowl aspersions. Vita Vea has the ability El Toro, which we know codes will get the most out of on big downs. I think this trade was a little pricey for a DT, but Codes gets a great player to really give him that SB push.

Waddle makes Falcons contenders
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
While I love to see the TC and the commishes talk out of their a** and make fools of themselves, I did not see this one coming. This trade is next level bullshit. Waddle for 2 1sts and a 2nd. As far as value it makes sense, but after all this talk about Nef being in TC, bot approving trade because they are unsim, and then he makes this trade? Either way this is a win for the Falcons, but how much does it matter? This Falcons offense is set for the cycle, but in order to be a true contender Nef needs to find a QB, and he won’t be drafting him in the 1st round. The Falcons have set themselves up to compete in future seasons, and after they develop a QB, they might be a scary team to face.
