Giants Week 10 Injury Report & Focus Players

After an exciting round of week nine games, we are in week 10. In simming through the week 10 practice, the Giants are getting healthier but still have a number of injuries. Each week we will go over the injury report and practice focus players before the game and update the depth chart at that position.

Focus Players:

C John Michael Schmitz: Schmitz is the current and future center for the New York Giants. He is a rookie who is in charge of one of the most important pistons on the team. As with the entire Giants line, he has been beaten and he is now being focused on in order to gain an upgrade.

ROLB Kayvon Thibodeaux: Kayvon hasn’t had the season that most would have thought this season. He was primed for a breakout season but hasn’t been a factor at all. He doesn’t have many sacks and he isn’t helping in the run game. He is kind of just there, but he will be focused on in order to develop his pass rushing skills.

CB Deonte Banks: Banks is close to getting his upgrade that he needs in order to continue being the number one corner on this defense. The pass defense has been lacking and maybe a speed upgrade for him is what is needed to help.

WR Darius Slayton 77 OVR – 4 weeks (Knee Cartilage Tear)

Slayton was the number one wide receiver on this team before he got hurt. He may not be having the type of statistics a number one receiver normally has, but he has opened up the way for rookie receiver Hyatt to dominate this season. With Slayton down, the Giants passing attack is going to struggle.

DT Daquon Jones 76 OVR – 2 weeks (Torn Labrum)

Jones was picked up to back up Dexter Lawrence. He was a good one two punch in the run stuffing game and will be missed as it leaves a bit of a hole in the middle on passing downs if the opponent runs the ball.

CB Aaron Robinson 71 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Knee Cartilage Tear)

Robinson is still on the IR list due to the Giants picking up a few veteran corners the past two weeks. At this point he will stay here and just be developed through attribute requests in order for him to start next season.

MLB Jarrad Davis 70 OVR – 20 weeks IR (Complete MCL Tear)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.

TE Tommy Sweeny 64 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Ruptured Disk)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury as he will stay on IR. No change from week 1. He will stay on IR for the rest of the season.

C J.C Hassenauer 62 OVR – 15 weeks IR (Torn Tricep)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.

TE Chris Myarick 59 OVR – 10 weeks IR (Broken Hand)

He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
