Seahawks: Played strength of schedule still sits under .375. Only 1 week left until the Rams Seahawks matchup. Who will reign supreme in the NFC West?
Texans (7-1): No one expected the Buccaneers to go toe-to-toe with the Texans, but they did, and they were winning up until the fourth quarter. Some say that Tampa Bay should have closed this game out with a victory but CJ Stroud remained poised and led his team to a victory despite throwing three interceptions.
Chiefs (7-2): Kansas City has proven that they are the favourites in the AFC West now and they head into the bye week extremely confident. I wonder how they are going to let their players splurge this week, maybe a bonding trip?
Cowboys: Drama has a Super Bowl or bust mentality right now- and I don’t disagree. Before all the top users build their teams, he could be a sneaky season 1 champion. Their comeback win against the Eagles with 15 second left solidify their current standing. -Arod
Packers: It’s Packers conference to lose. The only issue is HypeMike has never risen to the occasion in the playoffs. A first round exit after all this regular season noise is not out of the question. -Arod
Rams: Cook spent all season hiding obvious holes in the roster. It’s slowly being exposed and its becoming clear, the road to the Super Bowl will be one of the more difficult of his PML career.
Lions: Lions could assert themselves as major players in the NFC with a win this week against the Chargers. Vegas has them as heavy underdogs- but a win here will definitely draw some more believers. -Arod
Saints: Big statement win over fellow rebuild overachiever Jefe and the Bears. I think come playoff time the Saints are a sneaky Super Bowl contender. We will circle back to this statement a bit later. -Arod
Chargers (6-2): The game that never was.. The Chargers officially got the victory over the Jets this week, but Madden had other plans. Now, both teams will be at the mercy of a forced win, and with injuries set above the average for our league, only time will time who comes out fully healthy.
Patriots (4-3-2): Two ties against two teams in the same division, extremely uncanny. It’s going to make the standings in the AFC a little wonky, but the Patriots have an easy outing this week before the head into the bye week, but CB is no slouch, and he will run all over you if you let him.
Bills (6-3): Buffalo just got wind that they will be without their top tightend and halfback for the next four games, but this week shouldn’t be too difficult for them because Denver is without a few of their weapons too. Buffalo will find a way to make mincemeat out of the Broncos as Josh Allen finds paydirt over and over again.
49ers: They could very will be 7-3 before a show-me game against the Seahawks. Will the CMC injury derail the wildcard push? I think not. -Arod
Dolphins (5-4): Devon Achane had a 1.9 yards per carry against Kansas City and only rushed for 19 yards. Is this the result from being able to stack the box since defenders aren’t afraid of the weapons on the Dolphins. It’s still too early to tell who won the trade, but Atlanta keeps on winning whereas Miami has since found the losing column.
Falcons: Falcons fever is sweeping PML. They’ve officially arrived as they are 6 point favorites against arch-nemesis Que and the Cardinals. A win here will go a long way towards not only the hype, but the playoff push. -Arod
Browns (5-3): Cleveland escaped by the hair of their chins and avoided a disastrous loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It’s a marquee victory for the Browns and with two games coming up against the Ravens and the Steelers, the Browns can make quick work of the AFC North.
Steelers (4-4): Pittsburgh is on another hot streak, but heading into Green Bay, they are seeking to find a third straight win. Sportsbook has them at +1000 odds to win this game, can them pull off the miracle? Curt sure thinks so, but no one else does.
Bears: Jefe was smoked by the Saints which brings up back to reality after all the hype the Bears built up past few weeks. Should be able to get back on track and stay in the mix of things vs the Panthers this week.-Arod
Jets (4-4): The beauty of the AFC East is that all four teams still have a shot at winning the division, but which team is going to take the leap forward? It needs to be the New York Jets, considering Aaron Rodgers’ time is ticking away.
Vikings: The public has written Wimmy off. However, they sit a game under .500 and as history has shown us, don’t count this man out until the fat lady sings. -Arod
Raiders (3-6): A rare victory for the Raiders this week in what was classified as the interception bowl, but oddly enough the Raiders lost the turnover battle and still won the ball game. Las Vegas fans are furious about losing a shot at Caleb Williams, but maybe their hometown team will string a few victories together.
Commanders: Vet is officially overachieving coming up with a tie in a game they were pinned as 14 point unseason. Ahainst Spdot and the Patriots. Could they make a wildcard push? The schedule says no, but Vet has been proving people wrong all sesson. -Arod
Titans (3-5): Will Levis has thrown 7 interceptions in the last four games and has firmly dropped out of the rookie of the year ballot. He has more pressure placed on his shoulders now that he doesn’t have a former probowl halfback to lean on, Will Levis has his work cut out for him the rest of the season.
Eagles: Heart breaking loss inside 15 seconds to top tier Cowboys- you had to like what you seen that game. They’re able to keep up and the addition of King Henry puts them on another level offensively. But was it too late to make such a move? 3-6 they’re down but not out. – Arod
Panthers: They’re sitting at 3-5, but I just don’t think they have the roster to believe they will make a late season surge into the playoffs. Bears should be looking at a top 10 draft selection come off-season. -Arod
Colts (3-6): The Colts have lost three straight, but Jonathan Taylor has been a workhorse for his team amassing almost 500 yards in the last three games, but he’s only found the endzone twice in those games. The Colts don’t have it any easier this week, but Taylor should find some success against the 31st ranked rushing defense for the Patriots.
Jaguars (2-6): Content point fines, mid-season suspensions, and the losses keep on piling up, but does coach Tbandit really care? It wouldn’t appear as much. Get it together Jacksonville, your fans deserve better than this.
Giants: People are questioning Burns actual skill level. I still chalk it up to the roster. They’re now major players in the Caleb sweepstakes which would give the franchise a new look. -Arod
Buccaneers: I see the Buccaneers being a tough out rest of the season, but I think the focus is now on the draft. Tough break for Cammy because if the Baker injury didn’t happen I think they would have been a player in the divisional race. -Arod
Bengals (2-6): Cincinnati is fighting and proving that they can shut down Sportsbook bettors, but its going to be an uphill battle for them to really compete for their division. There’s no real consistency in effort from the coaching staff all the way to the players.
Cardinals: Many think Que will look past Caleb if given the opportunity to draft him 1st overall. I call those people crazy.
Ravens (2-7): Baltimore has lost four straight and are still surprisingly in the hunt for their division, but it starts this week against the Browns. Lamar Jackson has to command his offense and stop turning the ball over in order for that to happen.
Broncos (1-7) DK is coming off a bye week and set to face the Bills, but without Mimms and Williams, I don’t think he has a chance to put many points on the board. Lattimore’s presence hasn’t helped secure victories for the Broncos and it’s looking like they are going to have a top 5 pick at the end of the season.
QBs in trouble
We are past the halfway mark and that’s when you take a look around the league to see what QBs may lose abilities. Leading the race is Lamar Jackson at 18 which is kinda surprising in a way, just because of how that offense is built to be run first. Next is Trevor Lawrence at 17 INTs, another case where I thought Tbandit was gonna have a bounce back season with his favorite team… instead the “best passer in the league” is ruining one of the best young QBs in the game. Last we have Josh Allen, new user Beast may have not known about the INT rule and entered some dangerous territory, losing a XF QBs dev in your first season isn’t a good look. I’ve also heard beast plays very conservative and takes what the defense gives him which doesn’t add up when looking at the stats. Some other QBs to look out for are Bryce Young and Joe Burrow, they haven’t entered the top 3 yet but that could change by next week.
Talking without knowing
I really feel like watching games is at an all time low since I’ve been in PML. I turn on the prediction show and I hear people talk about games they didn’t watch, same with the breakfast show, I’m guilty of it, and even the trade committee doesn’t know what they’re talking about half the time. The act of just looking at a result and making up a story of how the game went is running wild through PML. As a community we either have to start watching more games or stop acting like we know what we are talking about during the games. It’s no shot at the people who do so either, like I said I can find myself doing it once in a while and I know not everyone has time to watch games. I just feel like it spreads false narratives about people’s games and sometimes it spreads like a wildfire.
Joe Montana:That is right ladies and gentlemen! We are back, yet again. Joe here, back at it again with another segment of Gridiron Emotions! Where we go and visit your fanbase and see how they’re feeling. What emotions they’re feeling and where they feel their heads are at as we wrap up another week of football. To kick off this segment, we take a call from Washington, where I have Nick on the line. Nick, tell me, how are you feeling?
Nick (Commanders Fan): Honestly, Joe. As dull as can be. We suck. We’re not bottom of the barrel, but we’re not good either. Sure we just drew to the Patriots who are one of the stronger teams in the division, but we’re sitting in the bottom end of the NFC East, of all divisions. We have nothing to look forward to here. I tossed my towel in week three, try again next season.
Joe Montana: It’s okay, Nick. At least you’re honest and can realize, and not be in some crazy delusion like other fans. But, no time to dwell. Next up we have Mario from Indianapolis. Mario, talk to me man. You guys had won three in a row to get to five hundred, but now.. You’ve lost three in a row. You still got some fate this season? What’s going through your mind?
Mario (Colts Fan): Honestly Joe, I’m in the same boat as that Nick dude. Middle of the pack. I thought we were something but we’ve lost three in a row, injury galore. Nothing is going right. I want to have hope but it’s hard, I can’t pick out any positive and bright points right now. Division is definitely out of reach, and if we want a chance at the wildcard we need to turn it around immediately.
Joe Montana: I feel for you Mario, I thought you guys were going to go on a hot run of form but that all ended after that early season three game winning streak. It’s been getting worse and worse since, but that’s okay. I’m sure in the future, if not now Anthony Richardson will be able to lead you guys to the promised land. Speaking of promise land, I now have Leo from Buffalo. Who’s team is coming off a dominating display over the Bengals, to improve to 6-3 and top of their division. As not only they look to be division champions, but potential Super Bowl contenders. Leo, how are we feeling?
Leo (Bills Mafia Member): I’m feeling ready to lift the Lombardi, that’s how I’m feeling. Josh Allen is playing like an MVP, our defense is playing like a top defense in the league. We’re clicking on all cylinders. We keep this up, a lot more tables are going to be broken. Bills Mafia Up, baby!
Joe Montana: Bills Mafia Up, indeed Leo. Thank you. Well folks, a shorter segment this week. But, nonetheless we hope you enjoyed it. How fans are feeling around the league. We staved off a depressing show by getting a team that’s from a contender on the show. So, until next time I’m your host Joe, and we’ll see you next time on Gridiron Emotions
